Escaflowne, we talking Hiro as the kid as the kid kidnapped for fate-changing experiments with Tadashi as his knight older brother? Or Hiro as the king and Tadashi as his missing brother?
(2/2): Or MAYBE for Escaflowne their story is parallel to Van and Hitomi? Tadashi was kidnapped like Allen’s sister, his friends join the resistance, Baymax was Tadashi’s experimental medic mech to help fight the Empire and the team has their own adventure?
Hmmm, I’m kinda leaning towards Hiro and Tadashi as Van and Folken myself, and totally not because that means they have wings (I DON’T HAVE A PROBLEM, WHAT?). I think it also mimics them a bit more too, like Van was always looking up to Folken as a perfect older brother, and I think Hiro kind of looked up to Tadashi like that too. Plus Folken is presumed dead, and THEN HE’S NOT, which I can get behind for Tadashi. Baymax could be the mecha guymelef Escaflowne that Hiro pilots.
Of course, Mochi can be the cat girl (boy?) who’s served Hiro and Tadashi’s family for years. And Callaghan could be Dornkirk, the wise old man who eventually went a little power crazy trying to achieve his goals. The Fujitas would totally be the cat twins Nariya and Eriya. Fred is Dryden, no question. The rich laid back joker? That’s all Fred. Unfortunately I’m not as sure about the rest of the characters. Maybe Krei could be Alan, because they’re both smooth talkers but their also kind of dicks?
Abigail could be Hitomi, the girl who gets sucked through the portal/pillar of light into another world.
Or once again, throw out the character mashups and just put the characters in the world of Escaflowne. Hiro gets pulled to Gaea in a pillar of light and ends up helping build guymelefs, all the while trying to get home. Meanwhile, someone very familiar is stalking him, someone else who got pulled up by the pillar of light in the past, and thus was presumed dead…
