Bandai Macross Delta Mecha Collection Draken III plastic model build
January 25th, 2018
Since these Macross Delta Mecha Colle kits only come with stickers instead of decals, and especially since they don’t even include stickers for the underside of these fighter jets, I didn’t put a lot of effort into this kit. I did the assembly during my lunch break at my desk at work. Easy.
I used my Tamiya panel liner to bring out the details, then wiped the excess off with a cotton swab dipped in enamel thinner.. I didn’t paint the model, but one way of cheating is to just airbrush a clear coat onto the bare, colored plastic. I sprayed a semigloss clear coat.
Next it was time to begin on the stickers. These are very thin stickers and quite nice, as far as stickers go. They go on easily, and they can be lifted up easily if you need to reposition them.
As you can see, no stickers are provided for the underside. That’s unfortunate. I would have gladly paid a bit extra for it to come with more stickers.
And here you have it with the stand. Bandai has a 1:72 scale transformable kit of the Draken III, but I’m more interested in Hasegawa’s non-transforming Draken III in the same scale.
