What would you recommend minimum tank size for betta fish?... I recently started working at a petco as the aquatics specialist. I was hired knowing almost next to nothing about fish. luckily the guy who trained me knew his stuff... but iv'e been told as little as 1/2 a gallon is fine (which is so small so i always up sell...) i get so many people wanting bowl fish or little tanks, and i still have to go by policy... but what is the smallest you'd recommend?
Omg, I’m so glad you ask, ½ gallon is terribly small for any fish, including a betta fish. The minimum for a betta is 2.5 gWhen a client comes asking for a bowl you can go with something like “oh, you already have a bigger tank at home, right?” or something like that, I don’t know how much they’ll let you give proper advice to your clients, but I really hope you can give accurate information for the sake of those poor fishies.I have a betta fish care sheet that might be helpful:https://puethar-petblr.tumblr.com/post/156595604608/animals-are-not-decor-fish-are-not-decoration#notes
