         he STUDIES her expression for a few long moments, the SILENCE hanging between them FILLED with unspoken words and hidden emotion. there’s a side to gaby teller that is OBSCURED, like the dark side of the moon, wreathed in shadow - it is one she protects with the same FIERCENESS as he does his own past, and he finds himself CAUGHT between wanting the trust that would allow the unravelling of that thread, and being TERRIFIED of it.

         because trust is a two way street, and the thought of letting someone else into the maze of rooms that hold his dusty skeletons fills him with APPREHENSION and a dreadful FEAR that feels like being submerged in icy waters without any escape. these people - these FRIENDS - had wormed their way through his defences without tripping a single alarm. they had become unwittingly INTWINED with his fate, but what would happen if they found out they’d been working with a MONSTER?

         no, he would not find out how big the hole their leaving would carve in his chest. it would leave him a shell, a husk                                                                            too many people had left already.

         (  you do not want to hear my story, little one.                                you should not have to bear the bloody handprints of my past. )

         so instead of taking the BAIT, he allows her jibe to roll easily off his shoulders, leaves it in the dirt where he’s tried to bury his demons.

         a small SHRUG, nonchalant in its attempt to appear RELAXED, and less like he’d just crossed an invisible BOUNDARY between them.

❝            but if you do not wish to talk, then i will not force you. ❞

hc + olympus

Olympus is not really home for him. Poseidon associates it more with his baby brother Zeus than himself. Home is in the seas for him. Olympus is a meeting place where he can get updates on everyone and have conferences with the other gods and goddesses in a controlled setting. These days, he finds going there tedious, particularly since it is usually just ambrosia-drinking and reminiscing about the ‘good old days.’ He’d rather stay on land or the sea.
