Just a quick late night color test! I wasn't feeling up to drawing much at first, but Edge and I got to talking and decided that there'd be a sort of god watching over the mountains and valleys that the two species inhabit.
The best mix we came up with was based around the Chinese Dragon that is usually depicted as very long, and very colorful! Ours has a more canid skull with the dragon body to start the combination of the two species. At the end of each whisker is a piece of cloth with a symbol representing Mechanids on one side and Jetdrakes on the other. What can only be referred to as the neck of the dragon is made from counter-rotating turbine blades of varying thicknesses which also have satellite scraps of metal that orbit the neck. It has two jet intake vents in front of each shoulder as well as the very top of a V12 engine block peeking out from between them.
There's no obvious method of flight it uses other than "magic" or whatever power it possesses, but it's obvious there's much more at work behind it than even the matter as to how an engine provides a life-force for creatures! Either way, it can fly at will at a rather decent clip.
As determined just a few moments ago, he will be referred to as Bozdoğan, and more information will come as everything is developed further!
Since I had some time to myself this afternoon, I went ahead and finished the first engine type's informational page.
These are the one cylinder Mechanids. They boast the lightest frame and the quickest athletes! That being said, they can't take much of a beating, so they stay far enough from conflict to ensure this won't be a problem. Don't take them lightly though, being so quick, they can outmaneuver most predators or aggressors. Most of these types are used for reconnaissance and message runners.
Their engines are strictly air-cooled, so they naturally run very hot if the cooling veins on the engine block are covered from fresh air. Consequently, their wardrobe is sparse with breathable fabric, especially on any clothing above the waist line. Skirts and loose pants/shorts are easy to find in bottom wear for both men and women, and anything that's not covered may often be wrapped in cloth. Personal identification is usually worn on the wrist for ease of access, but sometimes items similar to cards or necklaces are available for this purpose as well.
Colors may be the base canid's natural color scheme or something much more vibrant and unnatural. Their colors will not, however, be dull should they not be a natural color. Since they are used as scouts, vibrant colored members will usually smear themselves with earth and other dark oils to make themselves less conspicuous.
