Baek-jeong was your boyfriend, he loved you a lot and was completely obsessed with you, but then the whole referee incident happened and he went to jail and blah blah blah.
During all that, you two broke up and lost contact. Then one day, you realize you’re pregnant, and it can only be his. But you decide not to tell him because you don’t want to go all the way to the prison, and you also don’t want someone like that involved in your baby’s life.
Months later (or maybe years, I’m not sure how long this man was in prison 😭), Baek-jeong gets out of jail and starts working with IKFC. Once he finally manages to make some money, he comes looking for you and finds out you have a child but he has no idea the kid is his, and he doesn’t even suspect it.

1) I remember the fact that Baek-jeong go to jail after losing a fight and hurt the referee, but the serie never really makes it clear for how long.
My personal opinion is that he probably wasnt there for too long, maybe just a few months. The whole “boxers’ hands being registered as deadly weapons” thing is like a myth and in most countries there isn’t actually a law about it. Korea is no exception.
2) I have no problem writing pregnancy-related stories (actually, the first draft of Diet Mountain Dew was about that), im a Latina girl who grew up watching Latin soap operas that abused the pregnancy trope like crazy lmaoo, so that trope doesn’t make me uncomfortable at all.
