I found a nearly foolproof spawn location for Energy Aubergines in Mechonis Field

(that everyone probably already knows about, but humor me.)

I'm ashamed to admit that I'm still milking my first playthrough of Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition.

Yes, I preordered it. Yes, I've had it since release. Yes, it's been that long. Yes, I finished Future Connected first.

I don't have a lot of time to play video games, but I've been trying to make more recently. I've found it helps my anxiety a lot when I just meander around in the game, haha. The reason it's taken me this long to finish is also partially because I've been trying to 100% as much of it as I can and try my "completionist run" again. :)

I distinctly recall my mistake (one of many) when attempting a 100% playthrough in the New 3DS version. The hours I spent loading and reloading and reloading and suffering at that watchtower in Colony 6 attempting to get enough Energy Aubergines for Shilx was enough to burn the experience into my mind.

Just imagine if I was attempting to do all of the achievements at that time as well. HAHA that would have just been cruel.

Never again.

NEVER. AGAIN.

Anyway, I was trying to gather as many Energy Aubergines as I could while I had access to Mechonis Field (I still do, I'm only in Agniratha, lol), and I inadvertently found it.

The ultimate spawn location.

Where to go:

- In Mechonis Field, go to the Machina Refuge

- Climb down onto the path that leads to the ice physics

- Wait at the path's end until the collectables spawn in

- Already, you may find Energy Aubergines here

- Slide down the ice physics slowly via running up it while sliding down, and land on every platform sticking out from it, including the Battle Scar's platform on the slope

- There are collectables there, you may just have to wait a hot second for them to load in if they aren't there already

- Reach the very bottom of the slope, skip travel back to the Machina Refuge, save, load the save file, wait for collectables to load, and do it all over again

This ENTIRE AREA has a high spawn rate.

And yes, this information is also on the Xenoblade Wiki, but I just got so excited at finding it by accident that I had to share my "completely unknown, mindblowing, wow! what a secret spawn spot" discovery.

I've hoarded collected 25 Energy Aubergines so far.

25! BEAT THAT, SHILX!

Not quite a theory, but Mechonis Field backwards, like Zanza the Divine backwards, sounds quite lovely.
