The Gifted (Thailand)
The series was about a group of kids who got into the gifted program, but it was different than what they thought it would be. They found secrets, lies, inequality, and fought for the change they knew needed to happen. Many mysteries were uncovered while other obstacles still remained.
This was so good, I wasn’t expecting a lot because it was from 2018 and production has changed so much in four years, but it was amazing. The acting too, there were many awesome actors in this series including, Chimon, Nanon, Gun, JJ & AJ, Fiat and many more. All of them are brilliant actors and seeing them in such a serious role was awesome. The whole vibe of the show was dark, the lighting and everything were tinted so it was darker and showed the type of ambiance the director was hoping for, for this series. I also liked that the story had sub-stories, but also kept to the main story by having moments of trying to find the secret of the school. It was all very well done in my opinion and well worth the watch. It's only 13 episodes, but the amount of information and everything that they fit is unbelievable.
It was so intense at every step, I wanted to keep watching even though I was really tired and couldn't stay up any longer. The ending was very open-ended, which I assumed was because they had another season called The Gifted: Graduation. At first, the plot seemed to be about Wave, the tech wizard as some of the students called him, turning evil because he wanted to be the best. However, the main plot, though present through the whole thing, was about them figuring out what actually happened with Mr. Pom and Chanon. Wave and Pang worked together in the last few episodes in order to get the truth out and get the director fired, but they didn’t know what his potential was and it backfired. The director had Pang’s memories erased, but before this whole plan took place, Pang had made a video for himself in case something like that would happen. This made him remember everything that happened and all the rest of the students were waiting in the gifted room for him.
There were many twists and mysteries involved in this show and I loved it, I like how they had a second main plot amongst the first main, it made the story much more interesting to watch. I loved the episodes that showed the kids using their potentials and showing what they did and the effect on them. These episodes also had given insight into what each character was like and who would be on Pang and Wave’s side in the end. Though, some of them didn’t get much screen time as others like Joe and Jack, the twins, and Mon and Korn. I think it would have been cool to include them, though the twin's potential didn’t really seem useful to the whole plan, same with Korn and Mon.
Notes/Things I didn't like:
The only thing I can say I didn't like was that Mon, Korn, and the twins weren't really included in the main story, they were just kind of there in the background (mostly the twins). But it seems like they will all be part of the next season because all of them were present in the room at the end so we will see.
There really wasn’t much I can say that I didn’t like because, as always, GMMTV did amazing. I just hope that Nack and Pang can be friends since they didn’t remember anything, but I doubt it since Nack wasn’t really an essential character. Overall, this show was spectacular and I would definitely watch it again.
I will give this show a 10/10 for quality of production, acting, and storyline(s).
