Media alert: Charming Disaster premiere new single, macabre duo channels classic Halloween rock
"In their new single, mystery infused pop duo Charming Disaster follow in the tradition of goth-rockers like the Cramps, Bauhaus, and Siouxsie & the Banshees." - Spacelab
Brooklyn duo Charming Disaster premiered a single earlier this week at Spacelab. Hear and share "Be My Bride of Frankenstein” HERE. (Direct Soundcloud).
The band hits the road later this month for a two-week tour. Please see complete dates below.
"Be My Bride of Frankenstein" is a monstrous love song inspired by retro novelty rock, channeling classic Halloween hits by way of Nick Cave & PJ Harvey -- or Boris Karloff & Elsa Lanchester. The track nods to spooky hits like "Monster Mash" and "Werewolves of London," with a little Munsters and Addams Family thrown in. It’s the perfect number to include on any Halloween (or wedding) playlist.
“Be My Bride of Frankenstein” releases on Oct 5 on all platforms and will be included on Charming Disaster’s forthcoming third album, SPELLS + RITUALS.

Brooklyn, NY based musical duo Charming Disaster was formed in 2012 by singer/songwriters Ellia Bisker and Jeff Morris. Inspired by the gothic humor of Edward Gorey and Tim Burton, the noir storytelling of Raymond Chandler, the murder ballads of the Americana tradition, and the dramatic flair of the cabaret, they write songs that tell stories, using two voices to explore dark narratives and characters with a playful sensibility. In their critically acclaimed albums Love, Crime & Other Trouble (2015) and Cautionary Tales (2017), Charming Disaster has explored themes like true crime, myth and folklore, and the supernatural. In their theatrical live performances, they combine vocal harmonies and clever lyrics with ukulele, guitar, and virtuosic foot percussion, drawing listeners into an offbeat universe of paranormal romance, con artists, circus performers, and ancient mythology. Their song “Ghost Story” was featured on the hit podcast Welcome to Night Vale, and they have toured around the United States, playing music venues, festivals, museums, and the occasional historic cemetery.
