“MEDIC! DOC, COME ON MAN!”

This was the longest and most stressful match I’ve had
Found on Facebook. This is just impressive. Did anyone check distal pulses? No? Okay...
Get your butt back here and let me heal you!!! https://youtu.be/ExYg4_EaEjw
Yoga
Instructor on YouTube: This pose is also very good for your digestion as it nicely massages your large intestine which is at the bottom of your belly.
Brain: a) The large intestine is all over your tummy and b) your digestion happens mostly in the small intestine. This is so inaccurate!
Me: I am meant to be relaxing.
The internet isn't working today. But I found a paint program on the computer.
Let's talk for a minute about why healthcare in America is broken. I've seen it second hand through my patients for whom it's a revolving door of emergency room visits because they're unable to receive timely out-patient care for chronic conditions. And I've seen it first hand through my numerous recent hospital stays. Most people will say, "Oh at least you have health insurance...you'll be fine." Coming from the upper middle class citizen you would be correct but coming from a single mom, with a short term disability paycheck which is only 70% of my normal Salary, plus the cost of paying for that same insurance, which I would like to mention is $500 dollars monthly, is actually very rough. So yes I'm grateful that instead of $62,794 I pay $760 but that doesn't change the fact that after the cost of living expenses on an already decrease salary I still owe $760, and that's just one bill. You receive a hospital bill and separate bills for each doctor you see. If you see specialist sometimes they aren't covered by insurance so you're stuck footing that whole bill. These bills start to add up, get behind, go to collections etc...and the revolving door continues. If you're so fortunate enough to qualify for Medicaid or some other form of government insurance that covers you free and clear. Congrats, you won the game. That same 70% salary of which I still am taxed and contribute to government insurance monthly, I don't qualify for because "my income is too high" My income is too high, when at the end of the month I'm living paycheck to paycheck desperately trying to create a better life for my son and paying for medical treatments just to survive. Pick your poison. Be unemployed or underemployed and receive government benefits and never worry about unavoidable debt or contribute to the community with a career but run the risk of ruined credit and the stress of not only unavoidable chronic health conditions but piles of unpaid bills. Clearly I've chosen my path and will have to live with that decision but nothing angers me more than how broken and dysfunctional this system is.
Work has been a tad shit of late.
The kind of shit that makes you cry at the thought of getting out of bed to do something fun at the weekend- that you love and really want to do- but you’re so tired and worn out you just can’t make yourself get up.
Don’t worry: I’m working on it.
Either way, I’ll be reblogging all the happy things today.
