People would jump and jerk, surprised yelps and curses escaping them as Wisp snapped and sent volts out them, threatening those who were gawking and staring like mindless birds. Vultures.
Medic stood a safe distance, observing as well but with a look that could only be read as sadness. If she was able to, she’d do better for such a majestic being, assist with how she could. But alas, she wasn’t at such a high enough rank to do so.
But it wouldn’t stop her from stepping forward, getting closer to the other. The electrical jolts they would produce only made her tingle and buzz, get goose bumps and an almost magnetic sensation due to her own abilities feeling attracted.
Once close but still somewhat safe from harm, she kneeled down and looked to the other, not completely giving eye contact.
“Hello.”
Came out almost like a coo, voice quiet and as gentle as she could muster.
⸄ The dragon could not move much in their chains, but did the best to seem threatening with the little movement they had. Whether that’d be burst of electricity or the struggle to whip their spined tail. It did little to deter the people guffawing at the trapped beast. That didn’t mean the dragon would cease their hostile behaviour.
When they noticed a human getting closer than the rest, their aggression grew tenfold. Head snapping toward Medic, roaring loudly, tail flapping as they struggled to whip at the human. It wasn’t long before the aggression ceased with a low moo as the defensive measures burned into their skin. Wisp attempted to lay down to help relax their muscles, only to stand back up with another jolt of pain.
Seeing as their struggle was futile, Wisp gave a chuff at Medic. They could speak, but took to the more animalistic noises in their own little form of rebellion. Best not to give the humans what they wanted. ⸅

☕ - Do you prefer coffee or tea? Perhaps neither, or both?
[honestly? Both. But I’m lazy and coffee is way easier to perc than tea is to brew. But if I had higher motivation I’d probably drink way more tea. I’ll rarely add anything into both drinks, preferring the natural flavours, but a little milk and sugar in chai makes for a nice Winter treat. My drink of choice while working in IT was a double espresso]

♪ - Do you play any instruments?
[not really. Dabbled with piano and guitar. I can read sheet music, I know notes, can rock a rhythm with percussion, but I’m hardly amateur at best]

What was she to him but another sterile object of cold, discarded affection? A thing crossing his path when in dire need of a distraction, when claws and teeth and honeyed words flex and grin and slither from him to drape her with irresistible allure. What was the Medic to the Wraith than something shiny to pass the time with when his own reckoning and frustration became too much to bear alone?
She was there in the foreground of his hellish existence surrounded by restraints and syringes, drips of poison laced with mad science to keep him alive. As much of a thing to her as she was to him.
She was there for the aftermath spent alone, then not so much alone, in the Tank, watching, waiting, unblinking and patient while he’d been bound and gagged and swallowed whole by the monster.
She was there to witness her work, the collective effort that strove to perfect Talon’s wildcard, strengthen that foundation, steadfast in their resolve to bring forth a future of their own design forged by the monster they brought to life.
His caretaker and salvation, a tool to be used as much as he’s become one himself.
But with all this knowledge and experience shared between them there is no animosity, no frigid hatred or loathing in his lucid eyes. His touches remain as gentle as he’s able to be with her because he’s able to sense in her the same sort of fissured damage that’s started to shatter within himself. He treats her as a thing apart from the rest, something that’s his and worth more than a second thought, and he doesn’t quite know what to make of all of it.
When they exchange coy snark and snickers, when there are flickers of physical interest and unspoken invitations, he humours her. Not out of pity or idle pettiness, but of the deeper need to connect.
It’s evident when bared claws trace over her flesh and his hands pull her in close. When he can’t help himself and leaves thin stripes down her back and arms, crescent indentations of a kiss becoming more with teeth and tongue. He gives the monster its head to do with her as he pleases, yet it’s never more than just enough to display and almost platonic affection were it not for the possessive undertones.
He acts as if she is his toy, but in reality the Medic’s the one that owns him in these moments.
Would the Wraith be against a small Poltergeist joining him for said napping?
Not if said Poltergeist minds being wraith-burrito’d by one overly affectionate and groggy and clawsy Wraith.
Then no, doesn’t mind one bit.

❤ - gentle or loving touch (romantic or platonic!), such as face caressing, holding your muse, rubbing their back, petting their hair, hugging them tightly, etc
The Medic had found the Wraith collapsed right smack in the middle of the main room of Medical, with zero context as to what had transpired or why he’d chosen that very location of all placed. She’d have walked in on him, alone, rumbling and muttering to himself, laid out and struggling with minute trembles as if willing himself to remain whole, solid.
And before she could have done anything, before a single syllable could be uttered or breath taken, he’d dissipated in that oh so familiar manner of his. Smoke and ink and abyssal darkness. And not a tray or gurney had been tipped or overturned in all his carrying on.
He’ll brood over the thought of giving her more benefit of the doubt, of acknowledging her professionalism and convictions afterwards, mulling over the moment where she had rushed over to the pile of eldritch horror occupying her workplace, heedless of her own personal safety.
After all, he hadn’t been quite himself during this little fit of his.
But the nanites had done their thing, as they always do, and by the time the medic had crossed Medical to get to him, he had coalesced once more.
To a bare, hunched, pale and scarred thing of his former living flesh. Crouched as he was with arms covering his head, the growls hadn’t ceased for a moment’s respite.
And still she had come to his aid.
Her touch upon his back held the barest of trembles, though unwavering. Her voice had been confident, cold, without the shrill that oh so many have displayed in panic before her.
The gestures cut him to his very core.
All he could do was shift, wrap arms around around her slender body and bury his anguish into the folds of her uniform.
...they’re tearing me apart...
