This season, Pearl discovers why Etho lives in the jungle!
Yes, he will clear-cut the entire jungle. Yes, it is just for the grass color. Yes, he has been doing this since jungles were invented.

I see lots of people saying "the hxh fandom is dead" here on tumblr in posts, comments and reposts on hxh fanfics and headcanons and yeah, it does get less fics than other series that are famous too (c'mon, hxh is huge)
I was wondering why, besides the OBVIOUS "it's in hiatus since forever" which attracts few people and makes some leave, plus an anime that is way shorter than the manga.
my opinion is that hxh characters are way harder to write than some other animes, like one piece and jjba. one piece's characters are quite simple to grasp their personality. while there is, of course, different visions on the characters, most people can think fairly easily about them and what they would and wouldn't do. I feel the same with jjba, with some characters being harder (x reader with kars is more challenging than the other jofoes, shout out to @maestroinheaven)
but hxh characters? those guys are peculiar. I know how the phantom troupe acts with each other and with enemies. I have absolute NO idea how they would act with a lover, nor with a random person coming at them while they're pretending to be civilians. lllumi? I know how this man thinks. and the way that he thinks isn't compatible with love — at least not traditional love. also isn't compatible with platonic anything. Kurapika? he's a protagonist and a well-meaning person that truly cares, so he could have a good relationship that is able to go somewhere. but how? I read @bruevang-blog hxh fanfics and she's amazing at making the guys closer to canon as she can. she also often saying sorry due to the characters being assholes. because most of the characters in hxh are incompatible with normal relationships — a bonus to people that like yandere fics and love some angsty writing — it doesn't help a bigger portion of people that would want some fluff from time to time.
weirdly, Hisoka is fairly easy to get compared to others. probably why he's the one with most fics. definitely the most consistent character I've seen. he would hate this lol. Chrollo is WILD in this aspect. (all of them valid, by the way)
Okay; so I have like a teeny little HC that Jason likes to collect broken toys, dolls, ruined teddy bears, etc. And I wanna tell you all why I think this.
Jason’s fixation on collecting broken toys and dolls likely stems from a deep psychological need to repair and protect things that are damaged. His entire life, especially as a demigod, has been centered around the expectations of perfection: always presenting himself as the ideal hero, the leader, the one who holds everything together. Collecting broken things gives him a sense of control over imperfections, perhaps because he feels a parallel to them.
Broken toys and dolls, especially, represent vulnerability—something Jason may struggle with. These objects, once whole, have been discarded or left behind after they were damaged, and by collecting them, Jason projects his own fears of being seen as “broken” or discarded if he doesn’t meet the ideal standards set for him. Fixing or simply preserving these broken items gives him the power to make them valuable again, almost like a metaphor for his subconscious desire to be valued beyond his heroic exterior.
The main thing Jason likes to collect that’s broken would are dolls or teddy bears. Dolls are often symbols of childhood innocence and vulnerability, and collecting *broken* dolls could reflect Jason’s inner struggle to reconcile his own lost innocence with the roles he’s been forced to play. Dolls, being representations of people, might also tie into his need to protect others—people who are emotionally or physically "broken." It’s his way of caring for something he can control, something that doesn’t have the complexity of real relationships, which he may fear due to his need to appear perfect.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Jason had dolls that looked very similar to the people in his life and he just likes having them around, caring for the dolls, changing their outfits daily, etc etc. I also think he’s fascinated with the idea of brokenness or something being broken, something that was once whole but then suddenly fractured. His fascination with this extends to people, being naturally drawn to people who have imperfections or are “broken” in a way. People who are damaged or vulnerable.
Ironically, Jason has an immense fear of being broken himself. If he can’t meet expectations, will he be discarded? His greatest fear is becoming like one of these toys, forever discarded or broken or lost.
I’m torn between the idea if he likes to play with them or not. He definitely gives them stories on how he thinks they became broken, names, etc etc. He also has the hugest soft spot for teddy bears.
Just had to rant there.
You're right I could've gone to a drinking party on a Tuesday with my company and pay a ton of money to not even get drunk cuz we still have work tomorrow...or I could go home and chill on the internet eating a burger and onion rings
sorry this isn't much of a request, but more of just a random thought? what do you think would happen if the manager died? I'm not very far in the game but I'm pretty sure the mc is still alive?? what would the reapers do? love your blog btw hope you're well 💕💕💕
Thank for the kind words! As for this ask, PLEASE MAKE IT A REQUEST OMG!! I have a lot of fluffy asks (which I love), but I enjoy writing a good angsty piece, so I might just end up writing for this lol. And yeah, the MC is a human that lives in the Otherworld from what I can tell.
Now if they died, I think most of the reapers would blame themselves. They could have been there to do something or they should've been watching over the manager. Some might blame Nyang Lead Manager for not giving them enough protection. And if it's possible, some of them would edit their wishes to include seeing the manager in their next life. I can't go into specifics because it really depends on the reaper, bc some of them are completely different, but I can say that the entire department would become less playful and more serious. Nyang Lead Manager would probably overwork the reapers to ensure this mishap never happens again, which would definitely affect the reaper's relationships with each other. Some might even blame the other reapers for the manager's death, if they were involved in a specific mission.
However, if the manager died, I'd like to think that they would come back as a soul reaper. After all, they've gotta stay alive to find their brothers and have an entire department of reapers to run. Maybe even Nyang Lead Manager could pull some strings to keep the manager in their option after they've passed away? The possibilities are endless .
Hello everyone! I've missed you guys ❤️ My datemate and I are settling into our new apartment now so hopefully I'll start picking up my shitposting again 😁

Would me wearing this count?
Ladders
I think that part of the reason why Etho's (and the rest of Team Duck's, but mostly Etho's) plan worked was because he'd been showing everyone fun little things for the nostalgia. Everybody went up to play because Etho was excited about it! He's Ladders! He goes up and then goes down (because he needs to not be on the ladders)! His cover genuinely being 'I had to eat and I turned around' is so funny. He did do that! He did nearly die for the bit!
But also, why didn't they put a different block on top like glowstone or something so that it would look like some sort of special goal zone and less suspicious than 'entire sand pillar'. I think that was the main reason why his cover didn't work as well. Gem doing her best to cover for him and then Pearl covering for both her teammates with a fervor, unknowing, was helpful and Scar being so lost is just perfect.
Also he gave the diamonds to Cleo, King of the Ladder and of Hermitcraft. All the diamonds he won from the dragon, even though he got the final shot. Iconic.
