why take that one instead of a sort of "safer" one? i use lexapro and i've been taking it on and off so many times through the years that there's no side effects of getting off it

i've been on lexapro, it did nothing for me. lexapro(escitalopram) is an ssri, i've also been on other ssris, prozac/fluoxetine and zoloft/sertraline and no luck on any of them. effexor is an snri, treating a different thing, and it's the only thing that's made a notable difference for me

You get comedown from one missed dose? That sucks

effexor's notorious for having an absolutely atrocious comedown which can happen really easily, just by taking it late or whatever. the joke i heard was that its common for people to fire their shrinks after stopping it because the discontinuation syndrome is that awful.
