Earl King - Medieval Days (1972)
This party is set in the Middle Ages but it's still plenty funky. Recorded in the early 70s with the Meters and Allen Toussaint, but not released until 1981.

i just started watching Merlin on Netflix and oh my god, the angst.
“if i can’t use magic, i might as well die” is the PEAK of teenage angst and i am HERE FOR IT.
Can anyone point me to a GO meta about the Arthurian legend elements in the story? Ladies of Camelot, Excalibur in the magic shop, medieval romance, Arthur/Guenivere/Lancelot love triangle.
“I told you I would always come for you. Why didn’t you wait for me?”
“I can explain!” It would help if he was dressed but the other had walked in on the Dane and some other man. There was no room for excuses here, the other was gone for 2 years and the young Earl had urges he decided to take care of. “I really tried waiting, honest.” It was centuries from his days as a mercenary but somethings had lingered and his lusts was one of them.
I used to think that before Pads and Tampons were invented that women would sit on the toilet or pot or whatever for 7 days straight.
I have know learned that in the medieval days women who were having their period were considered inpure and evil until it was over and they were cleansed. Some would bundle up cotton with a string and make a makeshift tampon, picking out bloody cotton from their vagina for weeks if it came apart inside. OMG the belt. They wore this belt with a really thick cloth attached to it that could detach and while they were washing that one cloth another would be in it's place.
We have it made now and we're still bitching for better products.
