What is one English word that you absolutely HATE for no logical reason?

For me, it’s "moist" I know, I know, it’s cliche to hate that word, but it actually makes my skin crawl. It sounds like a wet sponge hitting a floor.

But lately, I’ve found a new one: "ointment." Why does it sound so clinical and greasy at the same time? It’s a perfectly useful word for medicine, but I’ll go out of my way to say "cream" or "lotion" just so I don't have to say it out loud.

English has so many beautiful, flowing words, and then it just drops these "clunky" ones in the middle of a sentence.

What’s that one word for you? Not because it’s a bad word, but just because the way it sounds or feels in your mouth is just... wrong.

I struggle with this one, too. It exists in so much media and is such a normalized thing, but I learned way too young just how much vitriol is behind that word after a boy in my 6th grade class slammed me into a wall and hissed that word in my ear. It doesn't bother me as much hearing women say it, but every time I hear a man say it, it makes my skin crawl a bit. Maybe that's just my trauma though and society has decided it's fine. Idk but I know I don't particularly like it.
