I’m still writing...sort of. I have a full time job, and 500 hobbies and projects, so it’s hard for me to sit down and actually write something out. I still want to finish my 4000 AUs and these 25,000 asks in my box...

...but also, I’m not as strict as most other writing blogs, where they do every ask/request. I tend to only fill the ones where inspiration strikes. And there have been a handful that I’ve turned down/deleted because I was definitely uncomfortable/unqualified to fill them.

So...my requests are always open! But I’m not consistent about filling them. I’m really sorry if that disappoints...

work in progresses

hey everyone just a little update for you all! i currently have a few work in progresses going on and i’d like to share them with you in no particular order! i don’t have set dates on when these will come out, but i am working on them: 

- lifeline [wanda maximoff]: requested as a part of mediocre 2k party, you and wanda have a private relationship and even though it’s a good thing, sometimes insecurities do arise. however even then, you’ll be fine with wanda by your side because she is your lifeline 

- somebody’s nobody [wanda maximoff]: requested as a part of mediocre 2k party, part 2 of smoke slow. you try to keep distance from wanda, so your older sister could be happy. even though nat is the most perfect girlfriend, the problem is, she’s not you 

- it’s time to go [guinevere beck]: requested; you and beck have a lot of history to say the least, so coming back home to find her dating some not-so-ordinary joe may just kill you, metaphorically of course...right? 

- favorite crime [love quinn]: requested; throughout your entire childhood, you’ve always been in love with love quinn, so none of the people she dated were ever good enough for her. she’d tease that you’d always find something wrong with them and that you’re being paranoid. maybe that was true before, but this will bettelheim, doesn’t leave the fondest taste in your mouth

- forever winter [wanda maximoff]: requested as a part of mediocre 2k party, you and wanda have been together for as long as you could remember, but sometimes you need space to grow together

- style [maddy perez]: requested by anon, maddy perez has that long haired slick back, and you’ve got that good girl faith with a tight little skirt. it’s the perfect combo

a mediocre celebration: 2k

GUYS! i leave for a few weeks and come back to this! you guys are amazing, we now have 2,031 friends! that’s amazing! so before we get into what we’re doing as a celebration for 2k friends, i’m gonna touch on a few things.

1) i am now going through my inbox and fulfilling requests that have been there for over a year. i’m sorry that it’s taking me so long, but around that time that most of these requests were coming in my grandma passed away, and that’s why i was away for such a long time. so, some of my requests that i’ll be posting are from the 1.5k celebration which is ironic. but i am getting to your requests i promise.

2) i will not be fulfilling all of the requests in my inbox. my blog has many characters that i write for, but sometimes i lose motivation to write for certain characters as interests change. that does not mean that i’ll stop writing for them forever, sometimes i get a punch of motivation as i rewatch and fun things like that. so right here i’ll include what characters/fandoms i do write for now as well as update my request guideline: criminal minds (jennifer jareau, emily prentiss) euphoria (cassie howard, lexi howard, maddy perez), marvel (kate bishop, natasha romanoff, wanda maximoff), you (love quinn, guinevere beck) i hope you guys understand and i’m sorry to everyone i’ve disappointed because i will not be fulfilling your request

3) IN HONOR of the mediocre celebration of 2k, we’re gonna do something a little similar to the last celebration and i’ll give you some prompts and write that for you.

How I Create and Understand/Learn About My Characters (Part 1)

Hi, friends!

So this will be my first real post (if you haven’t seen my previous post introducing myself please go check it out on my profile!) and I thought I would start with some writing advice since that is what I wanted this entire blog to be.

After trying to write different short stories or trying to start projects that have failed or I am still working through I have found some things while writing my characters and have realized that there are a few important and small “rules”, if you will, to creating characters that come to life. Most characters in novels or any sort of creative writing have a “type”. This type can range from anything such as a strong warrior to shy and insecure, which mostly depends on the genre or piece in particular. This is important to keep in mind, though, while you write your characters out. I like to create an outline for my character, which I can post later if anyone is interested, and it really helps me to get to know my characters as if they were a real person that you could learn about.

Understanding how to make a good character “type” is simple as long as you have some idea of what a good and not so good type is. I’ve listed a few examples below of some good and bad character’s that I believe are very unique or not unique at all to their Character “Type”.

1. The Good “Type” of Character, Well Written and Unique To Their Type Katniss Everdeen  in the series of the Hunger Games has a very original personality. It’s not often that we see an almost “father-figure”, female character, but Katniss fits this type of character very well. Not only is she like a parental figure to her younger sister, but she hunts and uses a unique weapon of the bow and arrow. Her entire character type is quite unique to who herself is, but fits quite nicely into the idea of a warrior character. This type can feel played out or like it’s over-used but Suzanne Collin’s has created a character that her reader’s love and feel like they understand, which as a writer should be your main goal. While the warrior type is somewhat overplayed in many novels, Katniss Everdeen is a very interesting character with a personality and her personality is not just based on her warrior characteristics that Collin’s tries to create in her character.

2. The Bad “Type” of Character, Overplayed and Just Unoriginal or Bland Most of you may be familiar with the series of Twilight, and many would say that honestly it wasn’t that great of a series, as the characters were fairly bland. Even the movies portrayed a dull and gray sort of appearance, which is how the books feel. The main character, Bella Swan, is probably one of the most bland character’s I’ve personally seen. She has never been my favorite character as she takes on the much overplayed “damsel in distress” and is quite reliant on her love life more than she is on herself. There’s not much to say about her character and her love life is completely her personality. While the idea of her character may have been a good idea, she wasn’t the most unique to the “damsel in distress” and to be completely honest most reader’s don’t enjoy reading a bland character whose personality is their Character “type”.

While all character’s can show the good and bad of their type some show more than other’s and if you are trying to write a character that is different from all the rest you cannot make their character type such as a warrior or a love obsessed girl their entire personality. You have to have depth in order to understand and learn to love a character!

Please remember these are my own personal opinions and not at all a professional view point, as I do not have a degree in writing. This is just for fun and some writing advice for those who may be struggling and want some mediocre advice!
