Soloing Giant is a great idea and the only time there should be any true issue with it is the placement of uploads or hacks. Where I start out is on the opposite side of the map, near the second U shaped console so that all the enemies spawn on the opposite side. If sniping, you can move to the nest on the left from there to pick them off easily or bunker down with a melee character near the ammo crate opposite side where you can funnel them to their deaths.
