How many objects do you own that feature your favourite colour?

Hmm good question! I have to say at the outset that I don't actually own a ton of things, partly because I don't have much space in my home but even apart from that I'm not a huge collector of stuff. But I'll do a quick inventory--I'm not going to actually say what the colour is though, in order to maintain my classic air of mystique!!

looking over my bookshelves (and only counting spines because I don't wanna inspect all the covers!): 27 books, approximately, there are some edge cases here

two jumpers (what I believe you would call sweaters although actually looking at your spelling of colour I'm not so sure?), one of which is my favourite jumper and the other was a mistake purchase I keep meaning to get rid of

at least one pair of socks, probably more than one but I don't wanna rummage through the laundry to check this right now

in the kitchen: four oranges

one mug

a throw blanket that I haven't done anything with since I moved in here, it went on the sofa in my previous home but I don't have room for a sofa in this place. I'm kinda poor lmao!

Charger thing is sensible. I guess I should use probably use a password manager, it feels spookily eggs-in-basketty though, but then I don't actually know the first thing about it. I don't think I have anyone it wouldn't be weird to give my password to. The reblog for next year is now scheduled!

Get a salt grinder, not a salt shaker. Bigger crunchier pieces of salt on food, especially on eggs, adds to the overall experience If you haven't had it before, bread machine bread is better quality than you might think. carabiner, I could maybe be convinced but idk what I'd put on it and your list of objects doesn't tempt me (currently I keep my keys inside my wallet which is probably unsafe but ehhh)

I'm not much of a green onion user and I'm skeptical that much of anything would grow in my frosted kitchen window that gets very little sun

My hands look a lot like my mother’s hands in these photos. I feel like I don’t look at my own hands enough.

I think looking at other people's hands is a good preparation for looking at your own hands because when you see how other hands are different you can see the particularities of your own more clearly, instead of just seeing default generic hands when you look down... thanks for the hands! They look like kind hands to me for whatever reason

What brought you outside at 2:00 am? Do you do that regularly or was there a special occasion?

I actually don't really do wee-hours walks anymore, and the post wasn't inspired by a specific one, but I have lots of experience with them because when I was a student I was kind of crazy with anxiety and loneliness and I spent several hours a day just walking through streets with headphones on, and my sleep schedule was fucked to where I was often falling asleep between like 8-11AM, so a lot of my life was lived truly nocturnally. It was a strange time!

The thought process for that post started with the fact that when I hear a car go by out my window very late at night I always wonder what they could be up to driving at that time. And I wanted to make that a post but then I thought the feeling I was getting at probably wouldn't come across and people would just reply saying "oh they're probably driving because [sensible suggestions]", which I don't actually care about. So instead I made it about the general feeling that stuff outside is a bit weird at nighttime.

(I didn't think your other attempt at wording this question seemed rude fwiw!)

There are so many songs that feel like they should have layers of meaning and then I look up what the actual artists say about their lyrics and it’s like “oh yeah these words just sounded cool together”

And often when the artist does have a concrete explanation for what it means it feels more like a very mid fan theory than anything else! Like it's not at all uncommon ime for an artist's take on their own work to clearly fail to understand what's compelling about the thing they made.

I find it helpful to keep in mind that even when "these words just sounded cool together" there still has to be a reason why those words sounded cool together right, most combinations of words don't sound cool. I think it's fair to think of "what's the explanation for why these words are interesting together?" as being equivalent to (or at least one version of) the question "what do these lyrics mean?", even if the songwriter didn't have much conscious insight into that at the time they were writing. If you're responding to something then you're responding to something right! It's fair to ask questions about what that thing is exactly, even if the person who put it in front of you doesn't really know themselves.

59. If you died and your ghost was stuck in the outfit you're wearing right now for the rest of time, would you be happy with it?

I'm not complaining at all but this question feels like a MAJOR outlier compared to the overall tone of the meme!

I'm currently wearing a pair of running shorts; no skin beyond the territory of the shorts is covered (it's so WARM today!!). So that would suck if I had to live my LIFE this way but I need more details about what my ghost career would entail to know how to evaluate this. If I have prospects of socializing with other ghosts I'm pretty unhappy with it, although I'm sure some others would equally or more embarrassing situations so it probably wouldn't be a huge deal? But if I'm just hiding in the dark being spooky then it doesn't really matter either way probably, and if I'm actively invested in creeping people out then a little half-nakedness is probably even an asset. So in conclusion it's not what I'd choose to be stuck wearing but I like to think I'd adapt pretty quickly.

40. Grocery list or no grocery list?

I'm a big believer in the value of always having a grocery list--I never ever act on this belief however, so I'm often caught out being dangerously low on important stuff. Okay "never ever" is too harsh, if I'm planning to make a specific recipe and need to buy more than a couple of things for it I'll usually make a list, that feels very doable because the list of ingredients literally already exists in the written recipe and I just need to transcribe the ones I need to buy into a thing on my phone. But the act of sitting down and thinking about what stuff I need in general and expressing that in list form for some reason gets me all "blehh I don't wanna do that!" And if I had a strong memory I could maybe get away with this attitude but I super don't! Just one of many ways I introduce a little extra totally avoidable stress into my life.

39. What little treat do you always get when you run errands?

We done that one! But I'll tell you about Trek bars as a bonus, which are little flapjacks topped with a layer of what the packaging describes as (and this phrasing has surely been sculpted by food lawyers) "chocolate flavoured coating"--they're delicious, they've been vegan since way before the recent wave of companies pandering to vegans and they're still one of the most appealing snack options, they claim to be some kind of protein bar but they can't really be that because they're quite reasonably priced.
