it’s so heartbreaking seeing them fall apart in sync but i think the downplay on shirou’s end is cause it’s hard to portray and make sense of for the probably non-reader viewer. at the very least they tossed in sakura’s “oh…i don’t taste anything.” which still hurt :(

i can think of different and short ways to show shirou’s mind slipping but i can respect ufotable’s decision to cut those things out for runtime since they did the most out of what they could do with what they were given. 

there’s also the part where sakura and shirou are lying together and she tells herself so long as she can feel the warmth of his body she should be able to hold out for a little longer and then immediately we get her wonderland hallucination and her encounter with gilgamesh and the shadow to show how she really can’t hold out any longer at all.

I’d honestly be fine even with just buffing the Stars count alone, or applying it to the party! Though, some tools to help her NP generation would be welcome, since as it is, it’s not exactly exceptional, and since her second biggest asset* is her NP...
