Just some of the eats I had over the holidays (I’ve been real busy so hence the lack of updates. My bad).
I’m two weeks out from my first (of probably many) Powerlifting competition. At the beginning of December I weighed roughly 130lbs/59kg, as of yesterday I’m chillin at 126.5lbs/57.5kg.
That’s right, you heard me correctly - I lost weight over Christmas/New Years, that time of year where everyone usually gains weight. The best thing about it was I didn’t have to skip out on the holiday eating. This is why I tell people that losing weight isn’t nearly as bad and what it seems, you just can’t go ham and eat everything you want all at the once.
I also didn’t experience a dip in energy, I kept my calories fairly high so I could squeeze in a cookie or two if I wanted. I wasn’t super hungry either (which is a blessing because I am captain hunger).
A lot of folks at the beginning of the New Year always hop on all these fad diets - cut out this, cut out that, eat a whackload of “x”, go on slim fast or nutrisystem or some other boxed nonsense, or join weightwatchers. You don’t have to torture yourself with “whole 30” or some other restrictive nonsense - what fun is that? No wonder these folks make a killing in cash, too many people buy into this bull and that’s scary.
Honestly if I were to point at anyone or anybody to start someone in the right direction, I’d say the @thefitnesschef over on Instagram is a lovely source of knowledge. Certainly puts everything into perspective for the average person. And before someone asks - no he did not sponsor me to shill him.
Anyways good luck to everyone.
