Meet the Artist: Neo✨

This week I get to introduce you all to Neo, who produced a stunning piece for one of NuWho's most beloved trios - I'll let you guess which one.

Neo started watching Doctor Who just over a year ago after much convincing from his friends, and it immediately became his favourite show ever. Its favourite Doctors are 9 and 12. Neo is also a very big Torchwood and Classic Who fan :)

Meet the Artist: Pip✨

The first artist we're introducing you to this week is Pip! She collaborated with not one, but two pieces for the zine, which are very different but absolutely wonderful.

Pip grew up with Doctor Who, following her from childhood to adulthood. As such, it is a special thing to him, having gotten him through some of the darkest periods of his life. It has also contributed multiple times to their lesbian awakening (hashtag rose tyler made me like girls in 2005).

Meet the Artist: Jenny✨

I'm so happy to introduce you to Jenny this week. Jenny made a gorgeous artwork for the zine, which you'll be able to have a peek at tomorrow!

Jenny has been into Doctor Who on and off for about a decade! They’re a huge fan of silly sc-ifi (can also be found thinking about Star Trek) and an enjoyer of the Nine/Rose/Jack and Eight/Charley/C'rizz Tardis teams.

Meet the Artist: Alexmey✨

It's a pleasure to introduce you to Alexmey, one of the artists collaborating in the zine.

Alexmey was introduced to Doctor Who by their girlfriend, after she insisted with them for a year. When they finally relented, they immediately binge-watched almost all of NuWho and are now more into it than she is.

Alexmey's piece is an absolutely adorable portrayal of Eleven & co. - stay tuned for tomorrow! In the meantime, find them @alexmey-does-an-arts

Meet the Artist: Descaladumidera ✨

Over the coming weeks, we will be slowly sharing the work of the amazing artists and writers who have collaborated for this zine. The first artist you get to meet is the amazing Descaladumidera, which you can find over on @descaladumidera.

When invited to speak about how he got into Doctor Who, Descaladumidera said, "Fell into the Doctor Who pit and can't get out. Legs too short, arms too weak." Their favorite episode is The Day of the Doctor.

You will be able to see a sneak peek of their work for the zine, entitled T.A.R.D.I.S., this saturday, so stay tuned! In the meantime, here is an example of her work:

Meet the Artist: Mati✨

I'm so happy to introduce you this week to Mati, who created a gorgeous artwork celebrating Doctor Who's longest and most central relationship. Stay tuned!

Mati is that one friend that says "oh, just like in that one DW episode." They’re gradually working their through 'em 700+ episodes, this close from making a TARDIS cosplay, and even closer to taking a leap of faith into EU. Mati is also a “Doctor being weird and alien” truther and somewhere on her tumblr there are feverish, insomnia-induced, DW-related thoughts.

Meet the Writer: Kai ✨

This week's spotlight is dedicated to Kai, one of the writers for the zine. Kai will be contributing with a beautiful, feel-good fic featuring Nine & co. Check out this weekend's post for a sneak peak!

Kai has been writing fanfic for 8 years and is thrilled to have done a piece for this extraordinary zine. As a Ninth Doctor lover, she is excited to bring more Nine content to fellow Whovians.

Here is a little taste of Kai's writing:

Towards the end of the song, she found that the Doctor had moved his chair slightly closer to hers--she couldn't tell if it had been a conscious decision or not; besides, they had already been close enough together. The closeness comforted her, it almost always did. The Doctor, her Doctor. Her friend, her protector... Maybe more than that.
