Meet the Maker Week Day 4 : Where else? 👉🏻⚪️⚪️⚪️🔴⚪️⚪️ . This year I am taking part in the North Forge Holiday party sale. North Forge (formerly Assentworks) has been a pivotal resource for me. Nearly since it’s inception, North Forge has allowed me to play with toys that I otherwise would not be able to afford. In turn, I brought a lot of my skills back to the community at large there, training and helping those who needed it. . This sale will take place on Thursday, December 11 at the U of Manitoba Smart Park, where North Forge’s business incubator offices are. Not to be mistaken with the Fab Lab which is located in the Exchange. . This is a great place to debut my new leather working logo. The needle, thread, and scissors are pretty self explanatory, however the cube is representative of a gold brick. Meet the Maker Week Day 2 : Make 👉🏻⚪️🔴⚪️⚪️⚪️ . Today, I expanding on a project I started during #makevember. I took my most loved scissors that I pick up 200+ a day, and replaced the pivot rivet with a full adjustable barrel pivot. I am now embarking on a journey to replace the handles for the extra depth so they are easily to pick up. Also, the original finish which is slightly rubberized, would fray and come off after extended us. . This gave me a change to deep dive into Fusion360 and flex my CAD skills to make a model that I would be able to 3D print. . Yah, I know, it has nothing to do with knowing more about me…but does it? This demonstrates a few things about me 1. I am never happy with someone else’s product 2. I will try do things the hard way because it will often lead me to a learned skill 3. I am SUPER particular about my day to day tools. .
