I’ve been tinkering on this idea of mine of the afterlife/supernatural being a kind of ‘backstage’ where people end up in when they die or when they’re dreaming. When a person dies they can opt to help out with the stage of reality (becoming ‘stage hands’) or they can rejoin the theatre in a different part, or… they can do something else.
A part of that includes self aware actors who constantly break the constraints of the stage and interact with us in the ‘real’ world - directors, stage hands, but also writers, set designers, and the like. The writers are the worst/best of them all - they offer you parts to play, rewrite your lives according to your and their whims. In our world we see them as demons, fairies, devils, saints, etc…
Here are two designs for two demons that I’m finally satisfied with - Mefistofeles and Beelzebub. Two broken (literally!) individuals who can often be seen around Lucifer, joining him in his eternal rebellion against stagnation, spicing up the narrative. Both actor and writer, they’re infuriating in their smugness. Do they really know the whole narrative or are they just stirring shit to piss off the directors?
