O que a marca promete: A Avon apresenta a nova máscara Mega Cílios.…
Nic from Pixiwoo has declared Mega Effects as an Autumn fave. Out of all the products reviewed, lipsticks, foundations, etc., Mega Effects was the only product to not share the category. Give it up for Avon!

Avon Mega Effects Mascara
Just when I thought that the beauty industry had exhausted all of the weird and wonderful ways that you could possibly apply mascara, (remember Maybelline’s vibrating mascara wand?) Avon claim to have boldly gone where no mascara has gone before! And as a result they have produced, ‘Avon’s Mega Effects Mascara’.
In the 50 years that cosmetic companies have been changing and improving mascara’s, the shape of the products has stayed more or less the same, until now that is. At first glance, you would be forgiven for mistaking mega effects for a decorators paint brush, or a hair brush for your pooch. However Avon have proudly stated that it is the, ‘1st brush of its kind’, and a, ‘pioneering mascara!’ So of course, with that sort of a statement, I was intrigued to give it a go myself.
Avon has in fact created a step-by-step tutorial on YouTube, (YouTube.com/iavonuk) that demonstrates how to use the new and unusual mascara. The steps were broken down into four simple stages; grip it, rock it, bend it and lock it. Once you have hold of the handle and pull it away from the cap, you can adjust the head to twelve different angles. This seems slightly O.T.T and unnecessary to me, but Avon insist that the mascara has taken up to six years of research, over 2,000 customer opinions and 5,000 hours of science to shape the cutting edge technology. Who can argue with those statistics!?
My first experience of applying the mascara was somewhat disastrous; it felt completely unnatural to paint on my mascara from the front rather than the side of my face. I can only describe it as trying to do my make-up with my left hand, rather than my right. Nonetheless like wearing your first pair of sky scraper heels, or learning to curl your hair with GHD’s; practice makes perfect. Half a pack of make-up wipes later, I did manage to get the hang of it, and I must admit to being extremely impressed. The Mega Effects brush is made of lots of rubbery bristles, opposed to the traditional wire brush, and claims to, ‘put 40% more mascara on lashes.’ The coverage really is fantastic, and the wide bristly brush, reaches every single lash, even the teeny bottom ones. Take heed however, if you are anything like me, and are prone to sneezing straight after applying mascara (why on earth!? I just don’t know) this mascara formula goes on extremely wet.
Credit must be given to Avon for producing such an eye-catching product, whether or not it is a ‘game changer’, remains to be seen. The mascara goes on sale in August at a price of £10, which after a couple of days usage, I believe to be good value. So if you are interested in this quirky addition to your make-up bag, get in touch with your local Avon representative for more details.
