Trying-Not-To-Beat-The-Shit-Out-Of-My-Client Shishito Peppers
It was one of those nonstop appointment days, one petulant client after the other (wedding planning is nothing like that goddamn BS J.Lo movie that everyone and their mom still brings up to me), but thankfully these simple & quick Shishito peppers kept me from thrashing the fuck out of my 3 o'clock bride to be.
On our site visit to an gorgeously overpriced hotel, I feigned a bathroom break and made a run for the kitchen. With my farmer’s market peppers in my bag (a handful only cost me two bucks), my girl Lupé quickly snuck me in and I made a fast batch of seared magic.
A little vegetable oil, toss 'em around on high heat for a few minutes, squeeze of lemon (yuzu if you’re extra awesome), and liberally sprinkle with sea salt.
