Though it turns out that, with a leap into Estinien's arms, the children decided that a hand on the shoulder wasn't enough.

First Family Meeting

In Drakyr's canon, Estinien adopts Mehrahd and Yahsra - which means Drakyr and Aymeric become family to them by default. Here's their introduction to Aymeric, and Ishgard. The new warm clothes are a welcome gift from Aymeric.

WolstinienWeek 2024 Day 5 & 6: Time Apart and Reunion

(I'm doing them out of order oh well)

Time apart is common for Drakyr and Estinien. They both have an inclination to wander - and a habit of getting caught up in all sorts of things.

But they're always in each other's minds and hearts.

And when they do reunite...well, as they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Plus they have new stories to share, and things to show off. Drakyr's been a busy miner~

Bonus: Close-ups of Yahsra holding Estinien's hand because I worked hard to get it to look right with the size difference and it's so cute. 🥺

(Also let this be a reminder that Mehrahd and Yahsra exist. I adore their relationship with Estinien. My headcanon is that Estinien wants to adopt them but is worried about a) roping Drakyr and Aymeric into being parents with him, and b) whether he'll have to leave the kids behind or drag them with him when he goes a-wandering.)

I think it's so sweet that Estinien bonded with Mehrahd and Yahsra, and frequently visited them in the orphanage.

In Drakyr's storyline, Estinien ends up adopting them - which is a bit of a thing, because he can't just adopt two children without involving Drakyr and Aymeric. But they figure it out. Not to spoil my own eventual fanfics lol

A little scene in which the three of them get caught in a storm. When Yahsra suddenly clings to Estinien, Mehrahd explains that thunder frightens her. Estinien finds himself surprised but touched that she trusts him so. (I may make this his "Oh. Oh." (parental) moment.)

This just further reinforces my headcanon that Estinien wants to adopt them proper.
