about that baxter art, do you know what scene/moment it is where you can tell him you volunteer? i gotta make sure i get it in my next playthrough

yup! you can tell him you voluteer in Sightseeing after picking the option "what are you studying in college?". make sure to pick that you voluteer at ORCA at the start of step 3 of course, otherwise this option will not appear at all.

i'm not sure if any choices you make after asking about college matter in getting this option (probably not), but once you get there it should look like this:

Since you've played it, what are your thoughts on Derek's dlc? I thought it was great. Derek is so sweet and cute but so underrated compared to Baxter and Cove. Don't get me wrong, I love them but Derek needs more love 🥺I get so giddy when I see art and fanfics about him.

i enjoyed his dlc a ton! i think it was very adorable, derek is such a sweetheart <33

i totally agree he is underrated compared to cove and baxter,,, when i browse through their tags here derek has significantly less things about him and it's a bit of a bummer. but i think he is just as good as the other two guys, i love my all my children equally i swear (even if the amount of baxter stuff i post says otherwise)

in any case, his dlc was truly a blast. derek's family is so cool, i loved the added moments in step 2 - i had a lot of fun getting to know derek and his family better, and spending more time with elizabeth and cove. especially moments involving elizabeth, cause i love exploring familial relationships :3

i've seen some people say that they feel weird playing moments with derek cause he is confirmed to have a crush on mc, but personally it didn't bother me at all. he may have a crush on them but he is still their friend first and foremost. and even when there are moments where his crush shows, i found it more endearing than uncomfortable. he is just a little guy with a crush on his friend and how can you not find it wholesome <33

his struggles throughout the dlc felt incredibly real. his role as the oldest brother, his feelings about his sports career and how he expects too much from himself, not giving himself a moment to do what he wants - it was all very well written and have touched me deeply. i think he is a great character.

i gotta say tho that i did not expect him to sound the way he did in step 4, i was so caught off guard lmao. but the more i listened to his voice the more i liked it :D

so yeah, derek's dlc was a lot of fun, i'll have to replay it soon! thank you for asking anon ( ˘ ³˘)♥︎

Out of all the confessions from the boys in OL. Who's did you like most?

My personal favorite is Cove's in Step 4. Indifference (Step 1), to Fond or Crush (Step 2/3) to Love (Step 4). The slow burn is *chef's kiss*

ahh confessions, the bane of my existence (looking at you baxter step 4 confessions post part 3). i actually hadn't tried every single confession, for Cove anyway. from what i've seen i hadn't done the one where he confesses at the end of step 3 and the confession in step 4.

but i can answer based on the ones i played through, so step 2 confession, mc step 3 confession and confessions of the dlc boys :3

...omg it's still so hard to choose,,, you see, while i enjoy romance as a genre, i don't care about romance in general that much, so i would just put all of the confessions roughly on the same level. they're all very good! it also depends on which character's route i am currently obsessed with, cause i'd be thinking about their confessions the most.

but my final answer would be that i like them all the same! step 2 confession is adorable, step 3 when mc confesses is just iconic, y'all already know i love baxter's confessions and derek's is just skjdhjksh the ferris wheel!! it's so cute!

on a side note, your slow burn route sounds like fun! i never choose indifference for cove cause i'm scared of fictional characters being mean lol. and it just doesn't fit my current mc for ol1. i'll have to try that one day tho! :D

part 3 of the baxter dlc love confessions?

i am working on it, however slow and tedious the process is for me right now. i really burned myself out from this particular topic, but i am determined to have it done - i'd like to have it posted before september ends.

i'm sorry it's been taking so long. like i said, i've been pretty burnt out but i have also been busy with other projects that i am far more enthusiastic about. :]

i really appreciate there are still people interested in seeing part 3!
