This one is a bit different than what I normally do. However, I feel this might be useful for people who are interested in buying unofficial anime merch.

Verdict: Okay; Expect low quality goods for a moderate price. But you can request for them to ship another product which will be high quality if you are unhappy with it.

I’m a huge sucker for good deals, especially ones that are too good to be true. Typically a lot of ebay stores sell a lot of cool unofficial merchandise of series that I love. I tend to buy official merchandise more often (in fact… sometimes a bit too much spent on amiami and cdjapan), but sometimes the knockoff goods are really things you can not get any other place.
I decided to get a mousepad with a Rem (Re:Zero) design on it that looked really cool. The store, mei7172, had a 99% rating and promised “high definition” printing on a large mousepad/game mat.

Granted, I was not expecting the quality to be the same as official merchandise, but I still had high expectations. The mousepad shipped and arrived very quickly, but the quality was terrible. Across the mousepad you could see exactly where the printer lines ran across the mouse pad to print the design. I was upset and wanted to leave a bad review till I read that they want to help solve problems their customers have and to contact them and not “hastily give neutral or bad feedback”. So I did, and they quickly contacted me back asking what I wanted to do and also offered to send me a new one stating that maybe it was the printer that messed up. I asked them to send me a replacement, stating briefly that I will leave a neutral review if the replacement is still low quality. Here is the quality of the mousepad I originally received:

They complied and sent out a replacement. They didn’t give me a tracking number with the new shipment but I wasn’t going to complain since they sent it out for free. Couple weeks go by and I finally received my new mat. It was completely different from the initial one I received. It had no printer lines and it was very high quality. Granted, it smelled like “factory” which is just a smell I generalize all items shipped from China to smell like. However, other than that I’m very happy with what I ordered.
