I've been thinking of Meimeng (Mei HanXue x Xue Meng) and MeiJiang (Mei Hanxue x Jiang Xi) for a while, and I think it's kinda hilarious 🤣. I'm really into this ships these days. But imagine being Xue meng. What do you mean my step-dad(?) is also my brother in law? And same goes for Jiang xi. What do you mean my son in law(?) is also my brother in law?

Ahaha so there is ONE SINGLE INSTANCE of Meijiang subtext in the extras, and it’s in the Chu Wanning birthday extras. But what I’m really talking about is Meatbun’s weibo posts in which someone asked her what she thought about Shuangmeimeng, she went hmm yes it’s good but not spicy enough, oh you know what’s really spicy???? JIANG XI AND MEI HANXUE DIDI. And then she went on and on about a possible scenario for them and I’ve been stuck in this rarepair hell ever since. More behind the cut. A lot of spoilers ahead and all interpreted with my shipper goggles on.
Basically, she said that well, she ships Mei Hanxue gege and Xue Meng, but what if Mei Hanxue didi wanted to bully Jiang Xi a little since Xue Meng really doesn’t seem to like Jiang Xi (because... you know... they’re... father and son). But then Mei Hanxue didi fell into his own trap and fell in love with the most beautiful person in 2haverse (FOR REAL THIS IS ANOTHER MEATBUN WEIBO POST. SHE REALLY SAID JIANG XI IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL EVEN ABOVE THE BUTTERFLY BONED BEAUTIES). Meatbun said this would be SO SPICY because it means that Jiang Xi would have to call Xue Meng his older sister-in-law, which would balance the power dynamic between them.
Yes, Meatbun is deranged in the best possible ways.
In the Chu Wanning birthday extras, Mei Hanxue didi found an injured Jiang Xi who’s going through his... heat-like thing... COUGHS (this makes so much more sense when you also read Yuwu through to the end; it really really sounds like a bimonthly omega heat ok...), and literally went “OH MY WHAT A BEAUTY I MUST HELP HIM” and yeah... Of course Jiang Xi said stay the fuck away from me, but uh, give them another minute and I really think they would have kissed. I don’t need much to persuade me to ship something. There are also a fair amount of very nice Meijiang art on weibo and lofter especially from caotianritian (Haoleng). Meatbun also heavily hinted that the 3rd novel is a Jiang Xi harem and that Mei Hanxue didi is likely one of the gongs, along with Jiang Xi’s adopted son, but likely neither of them will be endgame.
