I wish you'd write a fic where both Narumiya Mei and Sawamura Eijun are playing for the same team that's not baseball (for example basketball, tennis or volleyball) and are considered a duo for a very important combination play.

Happy New Year Anon!

So, my first thought was tennis lol but then I remembered the doubles match from prince of tennis where Echizen and Momoshiro are absolutely terrible together and thought that’s how Mei and Eijun would probably be. I can’t picture them playing basketball or volleyball. BUT I can picture them playing soccer because they both have great stamina so hopefully; I don’t butcher this LOL I tried to make this similar to what you see in movies? Where you’re watching the play but have the announcer in the background? So… sorry if this is weird ^^;

“And Kuramochi sends the ball into the opposing team’s territory,” the announcer bellows as the game unfolds before him. “Narumiya tracks it down with his speed, but defender Nakamura is right on his tail!”

Mei taps the ball, settling it as he begins the race toward the goal. He feels rather than sees Nakamura on his heels. Damn, Nakamura, for being so damn fast, he thinks. His heart races and his lungs ache, but his legs push on. With Nakamura so close, there’s no way he’ll get a clear shot off.

“But what’s this?” the announcer calls, staring down at the pitch.

“Mei!” Mei hears his name being called over the cheers of the crowd. He glances to his right and sees Eijun running, arm outstretched and waving to get Mei’s attention. The defender behind Eijun is unable to keep up with the young player.

“It’s Sawamura,” the announcer bellows in excitement, “making a run for the pass!”

The thought of not wanting Eijun to hog all the glory crosses Mei’s mind, but it lasts only a second. Besides, if the team wins, he wins, right? Mei sprints past Nakamura, drawing the goalie off the line. He makes to take a shot on goal, but pivots at the last second, sending the ball across the pitch.

“Narumiya Mei passes to Sawamura Eijun!”

Mei watches as the pass–perfect as always–reaches Eijun with ease. It’s the perfect set up and Mei holds his breath as Eijun uses his non-dominant right foot. Mei slows his run when Eijun makes contact and–

“GOOOOOAL!”

The ball lands safely in the back of the net and the crowd erupts into cheers. Mei lets out a breath of relief.

“Narumiya with the perfect pass and Sawamura seals the deal!”

The referee blows the whistle thrice and the stadium continues to cheer and sing in the wake of their team’s win.

“Yet another perfect play by the duo Narumiya Mei and Sawamura Eijun. The left-footed geniuses have done it yet again. With their second goal of the evening, their team wins 2-1!”

A loud shout of jubilee is Mei’s only warning of Eijun’s incoming hug. He watches the young player leap up and Mei catches him on unsteady legs. Eijun’s chest collides with Mei’s, almost knocking the wind out of him. They really need to find another way to celebrate because one of these days, Mei’s going to wind up eating grass.

“Nice kick,” Mei tells a beaming Eijun.

At the praise, Eijun wraps his arms and legs around Mei tighter. “Nice pass,” Eijun replies.

Accepting his fate with a fond smile of his own, Mei hoists Eijun up higher. They walk along the sidelines waving to their adoring fans. Their teammates join in the celebrations, and Eijun is kicked off of Mei by an overly excited Kuramochi, who then tackles Eijun to the ground in a… loving wrestling move.

Mei takes it all in with a deep breath. With that win, they’re headed to the championship.

lately cookie run kingdom and daiya no ace have been taking up a lot of brain,,,

i absolutely adore custard cookie III,, he is so cute and adorable and small and just gaahhh i love him sm he is my boy,,,, when i first met him i was like “this is the one,, this is the one i never want to remove”

but also another reason why i adore custard cookie is bc i looked at him and went “oh my god it’s narumiya mei but in cookie form” and ik it doesn’t work personality wise but like c’mon,,, u can definitely see the similarities appearance wise,,,

ANYWAYS THE REASON WHY I CAME TO SPOUT THIS NONSENSE IS,,,,

well this is really just for the cookie run playing meisawa stans,, (idk if there are even a lot of y’all)

eijun downloading cookie run after seeing a lot of stuff about it and immediately falls in love with custard cookie’s adorableness and because he looks like mei eijun loves him even more,,,

all of eijun’s friends ask why he still has custard cookie on his team when he has cookies like herb but eijun doesn’t tell them that he loves custard cookie bc he reminds him of mei

this is basically just me projecting onto eijun here for the sake of meisawa but pls,,, it’ll be so cute (this is exactly how i feel about custard cookie iii)

BUT LIKE ALSO MEISAWA CHILDHOOD AU??? WHERE CUSTARD COOKIE REMINDS EIJUN OF HOW MEI WAS WHEN THEY WERE KIDS!!!?? GOSH I LOVE IT SM.
