i know biel and juls love both parents equally but do they have that thing where kids (in younger ages) have that one parent they latch onto even more than others? so (for example) juls with joan because of how much she loves goalkeepers or biel with eric because he’s more like him? like obviously the kids love both their papis equally but just wondering if thats a thing for bielet and juls hehe
Yeah! It's not super obvious during the first year because Joan is away a lot, with matches every three days and practice and stuff, so the kids latch onto Eric the most at first.
But a bit later, Biel latches to Joan because he's calmer/quieter (except when Uncle Dani is close by, then Biel just goes hang out with literally anyone else while Juls gets attracted to the bickering like a moth to a flame). Juls is a bit more active and while Eric is way calmer after retirement, he's still the funnier daddy to Juls early on. They just have these endless conversations about everything (even when Juls is still figuring out talking, they just yap and yap like they can understand each other, they don’t care).
(After they watch an old film (Shrek) and Juls figures out the concept of princesses and knights and all that, she declares herself Eric’s knight because Joan and Eric’s parents call him princess a lot, so he must be a real princess! And a princess needs a knight to fight the dragons and the bad guys!)
As they grow up, it shifts a little because Juls wants to be a goalie and she spends a lot of time playing with Joan while Biel and Eric hang out doing less muddy things.
Also, after his dads and Juls, Biel's favourite person in the whole world is Pau. That's his big brother! Juls favoritism isn't as apparent. She'll beeline to the person who'll play with her the most, so that tends to be Uncle Dani or Tete Berni.
wait i’m curious and i’d like to ask (if it’s okay) in the LIDQ universe joaric, who proposed? 🥰 was it like at midnight just looking at each other and going “we’ve been married for 20 years, might as well make it official” and that is why they had a little intimate wedding at their home in Sallent or was it a planned proposal thingy?

It's a bit like you said. They had been life partners for years but having to keep their relationship hidden for so long, I think they would need a more tangible reminder, something that said "he's mine and I'm his".
I haven't thought much about it but I think it wasn't anything espectacular, no big gestures or anything.
I'll leave my headcanon under the cut because it got a bit long!
I think one day they were cuddling in bed or watching TV and something clicked. I think Eric’s brain just went: I want to spend the rest of my life with this man.
So he started searching for a ring because that's what's expected, right? but everything felt wrong and when he was about to give up, he came across that same necklace Joan had gifted him at the beginning of their friendship; silver chain, yellow beads and a flower pendant.
Something simple and humble but meaningful.
And then, that same night, while Joan cooked dinner and Eric sat on the counter watching him, he just took out the necklace and simply told him "I promise to love you for the rest of my life" or "Let's grow old together".
And Joan just laughed and cried a little and let Eric fasten the necklace around his neck. They had to order take out because Joan got distracted and burned their dinner but they didn’t care at all.
And it's that easy because they already knew they were going to spend their lives together. Joan had given him a home, after all. But now they both wear a promise over their hearts. A promise of friendship and love and something settled, something that's forever.
And then, years down the line when they start talking about having a family one day and Eric goes on a rabbit hole about the adoption and fostering system, they come to the conclussion that getting married would make things easier later on.
So one day they just call their families and closest friends and go: "we're getting married next week in Sallent". And everyone's bewildered because since when have these two been engaged?
Something along those lines! But I've left it vague enough so readers can make up their own scenarios (or leaving it open for a one-shot down the line, I don’t know hehehe)

And yeah! I'm totally thinking of expanding a little the LIDQ universe with some extra content (like their careers timeline and other irl stuff I came across while researching, the meanings of all the flowers mentioned throughout the story, etc.) and some spin-off one-shots as well because I couldn't really fit everything in and I'd like to explore Joan’s POV, how Arnau and Sergio got together and how it goes from there (literally a duo I made up in my mind but got too attached to while writing this fic), Pau growing into a top class centre-back with Eric and Joan by his side... There's a lot to pull from, so I don’t discard it.
In the first outline of the fic I had planned it to be around 5+1 chapters, alternating between Eric and Joan, but then it got out of hand and writing from Eric’s POV just comes more naturally to me idk why xD It’s just so easy to slip into his fictional mind hehe
So, to sum up, I think I'll keep writing them after I'm done with the main story.
I have to figure out how to end it now that we're past the emotional climax and are just diving into the established relationship bit (which I've never written before so that'll be a learning experience I guess). Let's see where the story goes, but expect some extra content coming at some point!

GODDDD THIS PART????? you know i love this fic so much but i was like hmm what if we get a dash of angst? but then WE GOT IT AND I ACTUALLY CRIED (lovely chapter so in a great way)
when they kissed i was like YAAAY FINALLY but also with this undercurrent of “oh fuck.” because they crossed that line!!! that line that shouldnt have been crossed :(( and i could viscerally FEEL eric’s despair and the way he begged joan he will do anything and i also felt joan’s hopelessness, his need to protect their hearts but oh he really hurt them didnt he? he hurt eric so much but i know it’s hurting him even more. the last thing he said to him being that he didnt want to make him cry 😭 they love each other so much god.

I also felt like we needed the angst to be a bit more explicit. Like, I've tried to imply it as much as possible over the last few chapters but all that tension had to explode eventually.
We'll have a bit more angst coming soon, but it'll be lighter since we're nearing the end and they love each other too much to let anything keep them apart.
I'm also extremey unserious so, expect some OG Team Domino shenanigans as well.
And yeah... They messed up, but only because they're terrified of how big it feels. They've never felt anything like this and they're still so young!
I feel like they needed to lose each other like this so it can be put into perspective how important they are for each other. Well, they already knew. But their priorities had to swift somehow.
