Everyone was in a bit of a tizzy with this whole kishin business. It seemed the mood at the Academy had shifted and Maka was in the center of the storm. He really hadn’t gone out of his way to converse with the scythe meister, but would hold friendly conversations here and there (friendly in the way of getting yelled at for selling Soul exam information). However, he knew the information the general school populace was kept ignorant too and that Maka and her inner circle were under more stress and pressure than any academy student should really ever face. He figured that he should at least check on there well-beings.
