My non-romantic OTP for this character Hm...probably Mel and Magda, although Magda is pretty shameless about taking advantage of Mel’s kindness at times. If Mel ever threw Rick out, she and Magda could adopt the cat that belongs to the old woman across the road and live quite peacefully together. 

My unpopular opinion about this character I don’t think I have any unpopular opinions, but I do have a headcanon, which is that Mel and Rick had their daughter Sam when they were quite young (Mel is 40 at most in the timeframe of the series, so couldn’t have been more than 22 or 23 when Sam was born) and hadn’t been a couple for very long, so that sort of cemented them together when they would otherwise have split up. It’s the only explanation I can think of for why someone like Mel is with a miserable bastard like Rick. 

One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon That she’d get rid of Rick!
