| It is widely accepted that there are more colours down there, in between Shawlands, Pollokshields and Govanhill, than up the river. The greyness of the city centre does not put me off, though. Yet items here have a different quality, and a distinctive substance surrounds you when walking around. Someone came up with the idea of filling the city with pubs, so you would not notice the unpleasant thickness of the air. In the bars and the lanes, nobody feels like the odd one out in Glasgow, and this is an amazing feeling, somewhat communitarian, a plural sense of identity.
