really what i think this comes down to is that writer getting upset that someone commented on ariana's tanning when they chose to play her knowing that it's a point of contention for a lot of people. but it was a comment made in character like it wasn't taken ooc and my character reacted to it ic because he is very vocal about black issues and always has been. but the thing is, he didn't say anything beyond i heard about melanin queen and then he changed his url. that's all

i’m sorry but as it came from a character, after doing some research, who’s real life person is known for cultural appropriation and has a sister involved who was banned for the same thing and racism, it’s particularly unfair for them to make fun of someone for tanning and then for yourself to bring it up later and change your url. 

you have to understand that it comes across easily that you’re making fun of a character and rehashing a situation that didn’t need to be brought up again. you went out of your way to change your url to something that had already caused a character discomfort. then to message us to put in the two cents with the same url, defending a character that again is known for being problematic and culturally appropriating is also hypocritical. perhaps it would have been best to let the situation rest and not get involved. it was enough to make someone leave, perhaps take that into account.

yeah man, i dunno, i know i shouldn’t expect much from people living in their bubbles but it feels like a slap in the face to everyone who’s died in any crisis that’s happened/continued to happen after that building burned down. because, like, before the church burned down you could be like wow no one cares about anything, but now? now you know what they do care about, you can’t pretend otherwise anymore

i wasn't defending bella for anything i was giving you guys context to the situation and tbh i don't really feel bad about my character changing his url since it wasn't a sly dig and it wasn't him making fun of ariana he never mentioned the fight and frankly this is really rubbing me the wrong way because it sounds like you're trying to paint a black character as the bad guy for finding it funny when a white girl gets called out for their really dark tan. this sounds like white tears

i don’t know your character, nor did i know he was a black character. you also very much did defend the characters involved, you say you gave context to the situation but in doing so you only sought to go after ari for ‘tanning’ without considering the fact that the person who made the comment is known for being racist and culturally appropriating. we’re not saying ariana is any better, just trying to make you aware that there is much more here than just what you seem to think there is. 

you also know neither of the mods races here, so trying to paint us as racist or saying ‘white tears’ because we stated that you need to take accountability is completely out of order. all this has to do with is that your actions and the actions of others inevitably made someone uncomfortable enough to leave and you refuse to accept that. as much as you want to believe it wasn’t to make fun or to sly dig, you clearly knew of the situation and therefore rehashed it by making your url and a post in direct reference to it. you have the control as a writer to do with your character as you wish and you chose to do something that would make a writer want to leave.

we also won’t be answering any more of your messages as it’s obvious you can’t be talked to in a civil manner without you turning it into something it clearly isn’t.

now my character who is black thought melanin queen was hilarious for a number of different reasons, and he said so on the dash but that was only like a day after it happened. he didn't @ ariana, i didn't @ ariana's writer. i don't think anyone targeted ariana or her writer ic or ooc about any of it. my character just chose to make it his url because he thought it was funny and he is in fact a melanin queen. i'm sending all of this to tell you that this isn't a matter of the old subt members

i understand. but under the circumstances. i can see why ariana’s write was being “sly digged,” too, you know? where that interaction happened before. like i’ve said like three times now, maybe y’all just need to talk because it seems just like a huge misunderstanding at this point.

now the part that i think caused all this ruckus was when ariana grande got involved and got pretty defensive over something that didn't really involve her and i think bella hadid spoke to her and basically said that people have a right to voice their opinion in order for other people to learn and ariana was like or people can mind their own business and that's when bella said ok melanin queen. that was an ic interaction though like no part of it was ooc.

like i said, maybe the writers involved need to chat with one another. 

from what i’m being told by you, it still seems like a petty interaction. like i’ve said before,  no one is talking about it being an ooc interaction. we all are aware that it was IC. however if someone is uncomfortable by that, they still have every right to leave or react to it.

hi! i'm the writer whose character changed their url to melanin queen after the whole ic encounter went down in paradise that all those anons you received were talking about. tbh this has nothing to do with writers because none of this was ooc like not a single part of it was ooc. i wasn't even on when the whole conversation went down on the dashboard but i have seen caps of it and it started over a joke that got misconstrued but that was handled fairly quickly since it was a misunderstanding

good to know! i think you two writers could talk privately about what happened to and just talk about how it was all just a misunderstanding?
