After Sex
No relationship that's going to last can be sustained on sex alone, no matter how earth-shattering it may be. A sub wants to know the Man who claims him. He wants to know Him as a person. Contrary to what some may believe, that doesn't lessen His view of Him as Master. It strengthens it. I don't understand why the courtship of Dom and sub, Master and slave doesn't emphasize this more. I can only speak to the online methodology of match making, but i'm often left feeling as though something substantial is missing when we're not able to have normal conversations about our day and our interests. I'm in the early days of a new relationship now and while I feel incredibly draw to Him, I can't say that I know Him. He's unique among Doms from my perspective: caring and appreciative, patient and focused on substantive things like trust. But aside from that, I'm not sure I could pick him out of a virtual lineup of profiles. I don't know Him. And that leaves me feeling sad. And He doesn't ask questions about me, which leaves me questioning what it is He gets out of me - why He wants me. Blind obedience cannot be the objective, right? Even from a slave POV, wouldn't ownership and dominance be so much more fulfilling if He knew what was being sacrificed to follow Him? Or if He knew the skills and talents and experience at His disposal?
