Ikelos and Melinoe Reading Order
Chapter One Chapter Two Chapter Three
Melinoe has actually met her grandson once. Ikelos took Xander to meet her when he was a toddler. He made sure it was one of her lucid days first and Mel absolutely adored the boy.
Katina, however, was furious when she found out that her father had done that because of just how quickly her mother can go from stable to absolutely dangerous. After all, Ike kept Katina from her mother nearly her entire life (and for pretty good reason).
I just realized something
I was trying to think of headcanons of Melissa watching B.lack P.anther.
But I realized the only headcanon would be her frustration of not being about to view it due to crappy Closed Captions at the movies. :(
How Jung meet Tallulah
Jung was once the angel of manifestation named Jamaerah. He was the angel who helped humans manifest their visions. These visions ranged from spiritual foresight to artistic creations. It wasn’t abnormal for people such as prophets and artisans to ask for his aid. Even he helped blacksmiths with their weaponry and sometimes he helped Heaven create weapons to defeat demons.
Because of his duty, he was able to meet Tallulah. Tallulah wasn’t the one who called however, it was her older sister, Jessica, that did so. Jessica, 27 at the time, had been praying to God to send her an angel who would help her with an art exhibit that she got an offer on. At the time, their mother had passed away a year ago and in total there were 6 siblings. The Wilson’s were barley making ends meet and Jessica badly needed this exhibition to be a success. Fortunately for her, Jamaerah came to aid her, to make her visions of art come to life.
Unlike most of his follow brethren, Jamaerah did most of his work on Earth, aiding humans. This was how his assignment were most of his life. Within his true vessel, Jamaerah pretended that he was Jessica’s assistant but in reality he was helping her mediate to create work.
While he was aiding Jessica, he met the second oldest child Tallulah. She was working as a cook in a restaurant, where Jessica would go from time to time. When Jamaerah met Tallulah, there wasn’t sparks that flew; it was more like fire. Mostly because they had disagreements on artistic tastes. But their different tastes brought them together because with both of their help Jessica was able to create work with meshed with both traditional and modern concepts. Tallulah challenged Jamaerah’s thinking the way no human had ever done. Not to mention, Tallulah really knew how to cook. Jamaerah never had desire to eat human food until he met Tallulah. She was also sweet and well-spoken but wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. Even though they headbutted from time to time, it wasn’t enough for them not to get a long. After working for months with Jessica, Jamaerah did something he knew could get him in trouble, he began to meet Tallulah without Jessica, getting to know her. Jamaerah knew he was entering dangerous waters, seeing this human whom wasn’t the one he was aiding. But he didn’t care because for the first time in his long life, he was felt something that humans always talked about: love.
But this love was going to have dire consequences, especially for Jamaerah.
If you asked Melissa if she missed her sight, she would lie and say no. (Especially if you don’t have any connection with her.) And she would make you think it was true because of her mannerism.
However, if you were a close friend/family member/partner of hers she would say ‘yes sometimes’. There are a few things she misses.
She misses looking at her favourite colour.
She feels ashamed and embarrassed when she spills things or trips over things.
She gets really paranoid when it comes to eating out. She refuses to eat ‘messy foods’ in public for the fear of dirtying herself up and no one telling her.
She doesn’t really know how to feel/look sexy. It’s a bit difficult for her to believe people at times.
Sometimes she has difficulty sleeping and waking up. ( She has a mild case of Non-24)
She misses seeing the sunset.
She misses looking at her hair and how her clothes look on her. (However she knows her sister puts her in the best clothing.)
She misses looking at photos of people.
But what she misses most of all-
What she really misses of all is seeing her family’s faces. Their smiles and expressions. She also misses seeing the faces of future friends, and family.
Currently, Melissa has accepted her blindness, for the most part, and things that come with it.She doesn’t get depressed over it like how she did earlier on. She has learned to adapt and move on with life. She had too. However her missing her sight is about 10% and usually something has to trigger that feeling.
Will she ever not miss her sight? Probably.
Melissa’s Strengths and Weakness
Abilities/Strengths
High tolerance to pain
Enhanced Stamina- Can live without food and water much longer compared to a average human being if needed.
Healing- When Melissa heals, she ends up transferring the person’s pain to herself. Depending on the severity, the pain can last from a few minutes to an hour. If she heals a person that is near-death, she won’t die but it will feel like she is until her Grace fully absorbs it.
*Superhuman strength- Unlike her younger brother, she has to focus her Grace more into her hands. It takes a lot of effort so she will use it when she really has to.
*Exorcise demons/Smiting- High ranking demons are more difficult to smit. For the most part, she’ll be able to disable them for a while until someone kills them(she can’t do it because she will be too focused on holding the demon). The longer she uses her Grace, the weaker she gets. A sign that shows her Grace is weakening while using it is when her nose starts to bleed.
*Telekinesis/Pyrokinesis- Melissa can only heat things via her hands.
*Voice mimicry- She can only imitate a voice if she’s heard it before.
Grace Perception - Although Melissa is blind to seeing the physical world, she has the ability to see an angel’s Grace/true form without injury.
*Sedation- She can only put a person to sleep for about 2-3 hours.
*-anything with asterisk beside it shows that Melissa only knows how to use the ability in her second verse. In the first verse, she doesn’t know the full extent of what her Grace can do.
Weakness
Angel Swords
Holy Fire- Damages her Grace/Soul severally. Can kill her if she is exposed to it for a long time. It’s almost like holy water to a demon for her.
Angel Banishing Sigil- It won’t kill her but will cause profound damage on her Grace/soul, preventing her from doing much.
Angelic Wards- Wards can’t harm her. Melissa can freely move in and out of most wards. However, wards do restrict Melissa from using her Grace. The only way a ward won’t restrict her is if the person who put it up adds her name to it in some way.
She can be killed through physical force but it will take a bit longer to do compared to a average human.
