Melinoe has actually met her grandson once. Ikelos took Xander to meet her when he was a toddler. He made sure it was one of her lucid days first and Mel absolutely adored the boy.
Katina, however, was furious when she found out that her father had done that because of just how quickly her mother can go from stable to absolutely dangerous. After all, Ike kept Katina from her mother nearly her entire life (and for pretty good reason).

Who distracts the other from trying to work at home: There’s really no need with what either one of them do

Who stares at their partner while their sleeping: Xander definitely. He likes to take in the small moments because he knows they won’t last forever

What gets them flustered?
Pretty much anything involving touch. He’s not the most used to it because he tends to isolate himself.
If they were asked to explain the difference between romantic and platonic or familial love, how would they do so?
I’m not really sure he could. It’s all kind of jumbled in his family so he doesn’t have a lot of clear examples of the differences with the exception of parental/child dynamic.
How does envy manifest itself in them (they take what they want, they become resentful, etc)?
He just gets a little sad but he doesn’t tend to want a lot of things, so it’s not a major issue most of the times. Only when he’s feeling really lonely
How does the image they try to project differ from how they actually are?
He tries to come off as aloof and content to be alone, but he’s pretty insecure and a little clingy when he gets attached to anyone
What are their emotional/moral weak spots?
The fact that he looks so much like his paternal grandfather is an emotional one for him
Guilty pleasures/Vices
He doesn’t really have any.
What would completely break them?
His parents not wanting him is the absolute biggest. Losing anyone he gets attached to would be a close second
People they’ve hurt or indirectly killed, and how it affected them
While completely not his fault, when his dad used to have bad episodes, it would fuck with his head a lot because he couldn’t help but wonder if they were his fault because of how much he looks like Chance
What-ifs/Alternate Timelines
Honestly, if he didn’t look like Chance, he would probably be a lot more extroverted and upbeat.
Boop - Xander and Jayne
Xander already feels kind of protective over Jayne. Like, enough so to have given the boy some of his own damn feathers and that’s just...NOT something he’s supposed to do. It doesn’t help that Lux had scared him. He wants to get to know him better too, but mostly he just wants to keep Jayne safe.
