i'm not sure what's so wrong with considering may as team "mom"

like it doesn't stop me from shipping her with everybody

it doesn't mean that i think she's somehow less for not having kids or unfulfilled or that i think that she should have had kids

i am not denying her sexuality by also liking to refer to her as team mom (seriously take a look at my fics. go ahead, i'll wait. she's very sexual in some of them.)

i can think she's sexy and a fighter and a nurturer and a complex character deserving of respect

and still think she's team "mom"

like people are harrumphing over this and it just feels like yet another thing that people are divided over

in a fandom that's already killing itself over everything

and i don't get what's so bad about saying a character's team "mom"

it just seems like a putdown of moms/positive maternal relationships/role models and may's relationship with the team

i realize that i am probably getting irrationally upset about something that's not a big deal

and like i hope this doesn't offend anyway, but i dunno

maybe i need to do more meta on how i define may's relationship with the team

i just don't understand why it's a big deal
