sea bass and sunset | renee & toby

Evening had set over the island of Leuda. It had been a long day, and Toby ached all over. His body longed to lay down and just sleep, but before he could do that, he needed to de-stress.
Breathing in the ocean air was a good start. Listening to the waves lap at the shore, ebbing and flowing... He was feeling better already. A little smile graced his strained features.
Toby wound his way up the small, rocky bluff that overlooked the ocean, his “new” fishing pole rested against his shoulder. (It didn’t look especially new--and in fact looked older than him--but he wasn’t picky.)
As he reached the cliff’s pinnacle, his favorite place to sit and fish and feel the sea breeze... He found he wasn’t alone. A woman’s silhouette was illuminated by the dying sunlight.
He paused a few yards away from her. He hadn’t ever met anyone up here before... It was secluded and out of the way, and not exactly the prime fishing spot; he only chose it for its serenity. It seemed he wasn’t the only one who knew of it, though.
"Hello?” he spoke up quietly. “... Do you mind if I join you?”
