Just eso or like. morrowind eso? I feel like i gotta play the morrowind part because there are so many cool characters from tes3 but i just cant get into eso. Awaiting your recommendation then i guess?
both actually! the morrowind dlc is good fun - while the starting bit (sans tutorial) stays so faithful to tes 3: morrowind to the point of feeling almost ridiculous, there are plenty of changes to the rest of vvardenfell that are cool to see, as well as memorable quests and npcs. but i’ve really enjoyed my time with the base game too, because there’s just a ton of stuff to do and areas to explore, which is pretty much what i look for in a tes game anyway?
the combat is certainly different and more floaty than in other tes games, but personally that doesn’t really bother me. though i feel like some of the enjoyment is down to figuring out the playstyle you like the most. like my first instinct was to roll with a dps character, because that’s how i usually play games, but it didn’t really click for me. so now i’m a tank, which is something i’ve never done before, but i’m having a whole lot more fun, not just because of the mechanics, but i feel More Useful to others in boss fights etc., which is nice (speaking of other players, i actually really like having other people around in this game? but you can solo the story content if you want to). so yeah, if you’re not feeling a class or spec, just roll another character. and the same applies to factions!

If one, say, wanted to get into eso...where should I start? The beginning?
if you have the expansions, it’ll start you off in the relevant area (at least it does with the morrowind dlc, idk about summerset) - and you can totally start with that, instead of hopping to the main + faction quest right away! starting with the dlc might be a less overwhelming experience too, since it’s more concise. but if not, then yep, you can start right at the beginning :D
