Author's Note: My professor asked for us to write a musical scene for class. So I wrote a scene based on my friend's D&D campaign I'm in. My classmates really loved it and I got an 'A' so that's pretty neat to know that one's fanfiction can be enjoyed in a college setting. lol. The Tumblr format is not correct for a script but I did the best I can to make it legible as a script. Azul's singing lines are blue while Mellow's is yellow. I hope you enjoy. Musical Scene: Confronting Azul

The set is an abandoned castle. The stone cracked and covered in vines. The moat dried. A young woman and young man stood next to each other, with a knight dead on the ground with a hole in his chest. The young man’s right arm was covered in blood, somehow he had punched through the knight’s armor and punctured his heart.

(AZUL stands back facing MELLOW as their enemy PERCIVAL falls to the ground dead, the final blow struck by AZUL. Hand bloodied, AZUL wipes his hand with a handkerchief nonchalantly. MELLOW takes a step towards him.)

MELLOW

AZUL… You have some explaining to do…

AZUL

(quietly puts his handkerchief away, back still facing MELLOW)

What do I need to explain?

MELLOW

Was what PERCIVAL said was true? You’re somehow messing with time?

AZUL

(slowly turns to face MELLOW, smiling gently)

I have.

MELLOW (bewildered)

Why would you even do that? What’s the purpose?

AZUL

(his smile falters a bit, but it still stays)

I will keep turning time till I get what I want.

MELLOW

What is it that you want? Money? Power?

AZUL

(he takes off his glasses to clean them)

I rewind time when you die.

MELLOW

(looks confused but hopeful)

When we die?

(she smiles and sighs in relief)

You make sure the whole team survives this quest? ZAYIR, TRISSA, POPPY, all of us?

AZUL

No.

(puts his glasses back on)

I make sure you survive. To be quite frank, I don’t care about the others.

(he shrugs his shoulders)

MELLOW

(looks at AZUL confused)

Why would he keep me alive and not the others!? I don’t have money! I don’t have anything of value! Why would you use this power to make sure I’m alive!?

(MELLOW grabs AZUL by his coat)

AZUL (serious tone)

(gently removes MELLOW’S hands from his coat, but holding her hands firmly)

If you are quite done with that tantrum, I would like to proceed further into our quest. We never had gotten this far before and honestly, you should be thankful that I’ve done this in the first place. Without me, you would be dead.

(lets go of her hands)

MELLOW (baffled)

So what? You want me to thank you? Messing with time has dire consequences! If I’m meant to die and you bring me back to life - you could be ruining the fabric of reality as we know it! 

AZUL

(fixes his glasses)

That is all irrelevant to me really.

MELLOW

How many times exactly have you done this?

AZUL

(is silent for a moment)

Fifteen times.

MELLOW

Fifteen!?

AZUL

PERCIVAL always gave us great difficulty. Even though I had prior knowledge, each timeline had different possibilities. One little change can mess everything up. 

MELLOW

But why!?

AZUL

Well, the butterfly theory indicates---

MELLOW (interrupts him)

Do not mess with me Azul! You know what I mean! Why would you go through all this trouble!?

AZUL

(he was silent for a moment, readjusting his glasses) 

It’s because I love you…

MELLOW (baffled)

B-But why!?

AZUL

No one can help who they love. Falling in love is out of one’s control, though I’d much prefer that I didn’t - admittedly. 

(AZUL looks away ashamed)

It hinders me greatly, I can hardly think logically. It’s a nice and terrible feeling at the same time. I don’t regret what I have done to make sure you’re still alive.

MELLOW (emotional)

Why? Why? Why!?

(tears roll down MELLOW’S face)

I am a lowly orphan, cursed by a witch, not a penny to my name! I have no value to you!

AZUL

(shushes MELLOW and wipes her tears)

You are worth more than the world to me. 

(smiles sadly)

MELLOW…

I will rewind time, so I can save you.

I promised to do so under the pale moon.

(AZUL holds MELLOW’S hands)

Your sweet eyes.

Gazed at the sky.

Hoping for better days.

Tragedy struck and he then took you away.

I then learned to control time.

I did it from spite.

I held your body in my arms as I waited for dawn.

I whispered a desperate wish for you to open your eyes.

I would let the whole world burn before I let you die!

MELLOW

AZUL…

(MELLOW gently pulls her hands away from AZUL’S grasp)

Like clocks’ gears mark the years in the verse of time.

Life is born.

Lives get torn.

Life can be unkind.

All life dies, it is law, Azul listen to me please!

It’s a sad thought but their souls are at ease.

Like the sun sets in the sky, darkness will reach you.

Darkness sets but we patiently wait for dawn.

While the sun sets in the sky, darkness will teach you.

Even though life seems hopeless there will always be light!

AZUL (angrily and aggressive)

Like clocks and gears mark the years in the verse of time!

I will always make the clock of the universe unwind!

In your mind!

Precious time!

Will be seen in better days!

Memories, like a dream, are still taken away!

Curse the sun in the sky, darkness won’t reach you!

Even though darkness is in the sky, I’ll be your light!

The sun will never set as long as I control time!

I would let the whole world burn before I let you die!

(AZUL grabs MELLOW by the shoulders, staring into her eyes. MELLOW looks scared and AZUL eases up and lets MELLOW go)

I’m sorry…

(AZUL turns his back to MELLOW)

I need time alone... The others should be in the village, you should meet them there...

(AZUL walks off stage right)

MELLOW

(reaches out and tries to follow him)

AZUL wait!

(MELLOW stops halfway and watches AZUL walk away)

AZUL… 

Your love for me surpasses the very verse of time.

I wonder what made you think I was… worth your time?

(MELLOW slowly turns around to exit, but she glances towards AZUL’S direction worried)

AZUL… Please come back soon.

(MELLOW walks off stage left and the lights turn off)

Her name is Cynthia Widow and she is a Female TWST of Oogy Boogy from Nightmare Before Christmas.

She goes by She/Her and is in Ramshackle (She is Yuu).

She seems like the stereotypical good girl: kind, quiet, and fun-loving, but once she is comfortable around her, you see she is actually Cunning, sly, and very outgoing. She loves to play cards and luck/chance games with her friends (she starts an underground casino) and is a good cook. She is very elegant and graceful looking, but she is always listening and has a way of getting people to tell her their deepest, darkest secrets, desires, and truths to the point where she could blackmail anyone she wants too. She has perfected her mom glare and is fiercely loyal to her friends. She dosen't like potatoes and has a strange fondness for spiders and bats. Her live language is physical touch and quality time. She has a fear of snakes and is not the best athlete (though she does dance).

Cynthia Widow instantly caught the eyes of the Noble Bell College's president, Rollo Flamm. Not only was she not invited to to this event, she was also a woman in a school full of boys. He eyed her closely at her stay with her demon talking cat. To his surprise, Miss. Widow was a kind woman. Politely talking to the citizens, parenting her little monster cat, and playing with the local children and goats.

Rollo walked with her and Grim around the city before spotting a group of men playing a shell game. Some men were complaining how they lost their money which made Rollo sneer in disgust. But Cynthia looked intrigued, a smirk creeping on her pretty purple lips. She watched intently as another gambled their money away.

"You're a cheat." She said simply, making everyone, including Rollo stare at her in shock at such a bold statement.

"Ma'am. I do not know what you're talking about." The dealer said nervously.

Cynthia walked up to the table, "You're quite good at acting about being humble. Losing some games to suspend suspicion - smart. But unfortunately for you I'm an avid gambler, who gambles to a various amount of magical students." She grabbed the shells and lifted them up to reveal they were all empty, "Non-magical people fall victim to these games against a magic user." She put the shells down and pointed at the dealer's arms, "You use your magic to slip the marble up your sleeve when you rearrange them."

The man looked baffled. Rollo took this opportunity to check himself. He stepped forward and used his magic to pull the marble out from the man's sleeve. Rollo looked angered, "And on our joyous holiday!"

The dealer shook and was drenched in sweat, while the people who were swindled got the authorities. The dealer was escorted away and Rollo made it his responsibility to distribute the money back to the gamblers, scolding them not to indulge in such dark temptations.

Cynthia and Grim pouted a bit, wishing they had some of that money. Rollo would scold them, but he couldn't stop looking at Cynthia's pouting lips and thinking how cute she was.

"You are quite an interesting person Cynthia Widow... Would you consider staying at Nobel Bell College instead? I would like you by my side. ...! As my captain of the guard of course."

Hes very quiet and laidback, but under all that quiet persona, hes actually a skilled brawler (Hes self taught so he can defend himself against his own bullies from a young age), You can find him either basking under a tree or just helping Ruggie with chores, But tldr, hes the soft till provoked type haha

Charlie walked around campus helping Ruggie search for Leona. That lazy lion needed to graduate, he's been in this college for way too long for someone as smart as him. The beastman then spotted a sleeping figure under a tree, he figured it was Leona so he walked up and laid his long body on the man.

"Go to class lazy lion or else I'm not moving."

The figure under him stirred awake and stared at Charlie, "I'm late for class?"

Wait. That didn't sound like Leona. Charlie sat up and saw that he was laying on Silver. He apologized as Silver sat up and rubbed his tired eyes. Silver said it was no problem, because he was grateful that he took the time to wake him up for class. Silver misunderstood what really happened, but Charlie wasn't going to try to argue with him. But feeling a bit guilty for almost crushing him to his potential death, Charlie walked Silver to his class and abandoned his search for Leona.

Days passed and to thank Charlie for waking him up, Silver brought him gifts of assorted fruit, acacia, and even chocolates. It was amusing at first because it made Leona jealous, but after a while it got a little too much. So Charlie kindly asked Silver to stop sending him gifts. Silver understood and said no more gifts.

So the next day he became Charlie's part-time bodyguard.

Charlie was a bit baffled how Silver could misunderstand things. It was awkward having such a short man following around, now he knew how Malleus felt. One day after school Charlie insisted to Silver that he can take care of himself. Silver took it as a challenge and swiped his legs under Charlie's feet making him fall. Charlie just stared wide eyed at Silver as he explained that he can either protect the beastman or teach him how to protect himself more properly. Charlie chose the latter.

Even more days passed and after class Silver taught Charlie how to defend himself more properly, even taught him how to use the basics of a sword. When the lessons were over, Silver felt he had finally fulfilled his debt. He bid Charlie goodbye and went on his way. Oddly enough, the beastman felt a bit lonely once the guard left.

But that night Silver visited his dorm and told him, "My father made reservations for us at a restaurant. Would you join me?"

Did he really ask the giraffe beastman on a date after all that had happened? Charlie just smiled and rolled his eyes and smiled. Sure why not, he grew to like the silver haired human anyway.

"I apologize for borrowing your notes again Charlie. I wish I was as dependable as you. You think as much as I napped on your lap I would have enough sleep... Not saying your lap isn't sufficient for a bed of course."

i am a.... very introverted person who's in charge of a tight-knit student group at my school, so in spite of my personality i have a lot of friends and spend a lot of energy on social time, which can get a little exhausting! my biggest dream is to be someone peaceful and dependable, who handles things smoothly and people can look up to.

my hobbies are fiction writing, calligraphy, d&d, and baking bread. i also love nature, the opera, and classic literature.

Jade was a very observant fellow, so it was in a matter of time till he noticed you. He saw you admiring his log of mushrooms in the botanical garden. He had a sense of pride fill his chest to have someone take interest in his specimens. He approached you to greet you, which startled you. He apologized and introduced himself and asked for your name. When he receives it he'll ask you what you were doing in the gardens and you just inform him that you simply enjoyed nature. You two chat for a bit before he shows you his mushrooms, and goodness he has a lot of them. Mushroom growing is his hobby and you mentioned that you liked baking bread as a hobby. Wanting to get to know you more, he invited you to the Monstro Lounge before it opens to make fresh bread with you. You could say it was your first date with Jade. And the bread the two of you made were served in the restaurant when it opened, he got free labor out of you and enjoyed your company. Time has passed and you two became rather close friends, which made you a bit suspicious at first, but Jade had earned your trust. He helped you with homework and during Beanfest he saved you from the grasp of monsters, without wanting anything in return!

When he finally asks you on a real date, he takes you hiking in the mountains to enjoy nature together. After the long hike, he'll rest with you under a tree, holding your hand. His hand was ice cold but he made your heart warm.

"Care to accompany me up the mountains tonight dear? Yes, it'll just be the two of us. I have something special waiting for us there. Hm? What is it? That'll ruin the surprise... don't you think? Fufufufu."

One may think Vil being a model and celebrity, automatically makes him rude and vain. In truth Vil can see the beauty in everything and everyone, but people are quick to judge him. Everyone has their assets, it's just their choice to flaunt them or not. So when he gazed upon you, he believed your beauty was incomparable.

Vil notices you in potion class despite you being so quiet. You kept to yourself and preferred to work by yourself. One day a group of pairs was needed for a project and he volunteered to be your partner, while almost everyone else in class begged him to be theirs. Of course this confused you, why would a popular celebrity and one of the top students in the school would even want to be paired with you? You just shrugged and started to work on the potion together. It was strictly a professional project, no small talk, no questions. And then you accidentally knocked juniper berries in the cauldron. Oh no! You ruined the invisibility potion, now Vil will be mad at you! You breathed heavily and felt your heart beat fast. You ruined it. Vil noticed and patted your shoulder, "Are you alright?" You answered him in silence. Vil was silent as well and worked on the cauldron, throwing in mermaid tears and various flowers in the mix. After a few minutes he fixed it. He showed you the fixed potion and told you there was nothing to worry about. You seemed to calm down. How did he fix a ruined potion so fast? Vil then instructed you to hold the potion bottle so he can pour it in. When the potion was turned in, you both got a 100% on the project.

Days passed and Vil will greet you when he sees you, on and off campus. He notices your tomboy attire and thinks it quite suits you. It made you rakishly cute, an opposite of his more feminine type fashion. Which drew Vil towards you more.

When you two had class again, he partnered with you and decided to have a bit of small talk. The two of you talked about mundane things, if you ever watched the movies Vil was in, if you liked makeup, and other things. But when it came to your favorite subject, oh my goodness, you couldn't stop talking! Vil of course was entertained that you were socializing with him, but you could talk a person's ear off.

Later the two of you started spending more time together, when Vil wasn't busy of course. When you would come over, you'd sit next to him and lay your head on his shoulder which would make him blush. He was happy that you have finally felt comfortable with him. He started to call you, 'Little Potato', thinking it was cute. When the two of you walked together, you mustered up the courage to hold his hand, which he gladly accepted.

One day Vil came to you with tickets to a premier of a new movie he starred in. When you accepted the tickets he smiled sweetly.

"It's a date then."

"Little Potato, just let me put on my makeup first and then I'll give you attention. No? Why are you so impatient? I'm right here. ... *sighs* Alright. Come here."

Oh what a pretty girl you are. You stand out in the crowd with your pastel colored clothes and childish behavior. You caught the eye of Floyd Leech who thought you were so cute that he just wanted to squeeze you.

He first noticed you hanging out with Crabby and Mackerel, casting painting magic at each other. How fun! So he invited himself and terrorized you three with his energetic self. Crabby and Mackerel were terrified by him, but you seemed alright with him, which made him more interested in you. He then gave you a nickname, 'Ribbon-chan', because you reminded him of the pretty ribbon eels from the sea.

His fondness for you is quite baffling. He'll be so happy seeing you in Monstro Lounge that he'll run across the restaurant just to hug you, knocking servers and guests down. Jade respectfully asks you to not visit till after hours, in fear Azul would ban you. Sometimes when he's in a bad mood and seems not to be bothered, he would still want you to be near him, sometimes stubbornly holding your hand like a child so you won't leave him. He enjoys teasing you, especially how easily flustered you are. His favorite thing to do is to ask to taste whatever you're eating or drinking and just give you a peck on the lips and giggle at your reaction.

When he finally asks you on a date, he'll take you to the mall to buy more plushies for your collection. Afterwards he takes you home and invites himself in your room and cuddle with them all. You two will talk endlessly about random things, but he'll keep quiet to watch you play scary games and laugh at your scared reactions. When you're tired he'll scoop you up and cuddle with you in your bed, careful not to knock your plushies on the floor.

"Oh Ribbon-chan, please let me hang out with you in your dorm today! I just want to squeeze you and all of your plushies. Hyuahaha. Well... mostly you.♡"
