second summer in a row of pet-health bullshit and i'm so very tired.
our immune compromised kitty (who almost died last summer) had a check up last month and his blood cell counts are all out of wack again and after a month of treatment they have not improved. taking him in for a bone marrow biopsy tomorrow and hoping for something treatable.
finished my re-listen of TAZ: Balance and am now a few episodes into Amnesty. I love the Amnesty theme so much I'm listening to the podcast at 1x speed instead of my usual 1.5x.

still buzzing from the Dragula viewing party/drag show with Asia Consent and Pi (plus, a handful of Seattle queens) at Massive in Cap Hill. Asia is just absolutely stunning, and gave two beautiful performances. And Pi's energy was so up and electric (didn't hurt that I got a little attention/intense eye contact from Pi, either. 😏)

you know, they say other people probably don't remember that thing you said that you're still embarrassed about when you can't sleep at 3am...
but, from my time in education, i remember *every* instance of a student calling a staff member some variety of "mom" or "dad". i've even heard a "grandma".
happened to me twice. years apart, two different schools in different towns. one student that was 5 years old, the other was 19. they both seemed equally embarrassed. blushing to their roots. i hope they don't beat themselves up about it because i remember them fondly and it helps me be kinder to myself about my own embarrassments.
