Yuya frowned, wrapping an arm around her and pulling her closer to his chest. If there was one thing he couldn’t stand seeing, it was Yuzu being upset.

“What’s wrong? You wanna talk about it?”

Ruri’s pink eyes were filled with concern for her friend as she moved her free arm to place her hand on the small of Yuzu’s back so she could help her up. Luckily for Yuzu, Ruri had gone through years of medical school to be the very well trained nurse she was today, so seeing Yuzu react like this after a such a fall wasn’t too surprising for her, but… she still couldn’t help but worry about her condition…

… especially when it took a dreadful turn.

“I–… I’m pregnant…?”

Oh, this certainly wasn’t good.

“Hey hey… it’s okay. Don’t panic,” she tried to reassure her dear friend, “you’re going to be—“

“Where am I?! Who are you?!”

Ruri frowned as Yuzu continued to panic, her hand gently squeezing hers as she did her best to try and calm her down. Amnesia after a fall like that was rather common, but to have Yuzu start panicking wasn’t good for her health or for the baby. They needed to go to a hospital… now.

“Shh…” Ruri whispered, lifting her hand up from Yuzu’s back so she was gently squeezing her friend’s shoulder, “I know it’s scary, but I’m not going to let anything bad happen to you, okay? You can trust me.” Once she was sure Yuzu was… calm enough, that was when Ruri decided to answer her questions.

“Your name is Yuzu Hiragi and I’m Ruri Kurosaki.” She explained, giving her friend a comforting smile to try and keep her calm. “We were out shopping together and you fell. You hit your head, which is why you won’t be able to remember anything right now, but I’m going to help you, okay? We’re going to the hospital so we can get you and the baby checked out.”

Ruri took out her phone as she carefully guided Yuzu to her car, dialing her own husband’s number. While Ruri knew that calling Yuya first would have been the most important thing to do considering he was Yuzu’s husband, she knew him far too well to tell him straight away, especially when they weren’t even at the hospital yet. Yuya could be such a worrywart (and after this fall, Ruri couldn’t exactly blame him) and with Yuzu’s current… memory issues, Yuya’s constant hovering didn’t seem like a great idea at the moment. She just wanted to wait before giving all the details.

That was why she was calling Yuto instead.

“Hi Honey,” Ruri spoke calmly into the phone as she helped Yuzu into the passenger side of the car, giving her friend a reassuring squeeze to her shoulder once more, “are you still with Yuya?” She paused for a moment, waiting for his answer. “Okay good. I’m about to tell you something, but I need you to stay as calm as possible so you don’t freak him out, okay?

Yuzu took a fall and she can’t remember anything. I think the baby is okay, but I’m going to take her to the hospital now. I’ll give you another call once I think it’s okay to bring Yuya in okay? I shouldn’t be too long. … Okay, thank you. … I love you too.” Once she was done, Ruri quickly hung up and put her phone in her pocket, moving over to the driver’s side and quickly starting the car and pulling out of the driveway of the shopping center.

“You’re going to be alright, Yuzu. I know this is all very sudden, but I need you to just keep taking deep breaths for me, okay?”

A soft giggle left the green haired girl’s lips as she brought her girlfriend in closer, keeping her warm in their loving embrace as the light snow fell around them . She didn’t mind that Yuzu had snuggled into her to practically steal her body heat – if it would make her smile, then Rin would do anything for her.

“Why thank you~ But maybe we should get some hot chocolate or something to try and warm us up a little bit more? I don’t think standing around and freezing is going to help us all that much.” Rin suggested with another light and cheerful laugh, nuzzling her girlfriend gently as she shivered from the cold winds of December’s harsh winter air. The two had only been together for half a year, so to get into the spirit of the holidays, they decided to go out for Christmas Eve to have a few drinks and celebrate. Neither of them just expected it to be so chilly, but that was their own fault, unfortunately.

But hey, at least they had each other to keep them warm – and possibly some hot chocolate if all went according to plan.

Aoi gave her sister a small but grateful smile as she helped her into the living room, sitting her gently on the couch so she could rest. Aoi only had a day to stay at home before she was expected to move into her flat with Blue Angel’s roommate – well… her roommate, but honestly? What was the difference anymore?

She honestly just hoped that the higher-ups of SOL Technologies weren’t expecting her to work right away – she had just been allowed to leave the hospital after recovering from brain surgery. You would think they would cut her some slack on that. What a nightmare.

But this was apparently the life she had unwillingly signed up for now – to replace the great Blue Angel – covergirl of SOL Technologies. Well… only a few people knew that Blue Angel was being replaced. Everyone else had just followed the media coverage that had been leaked, stating that Blue Angel had hit her head and gotten amnesia on the same day and place that Aoi Zaizen had been killed in an attack.

Except… well, she wasn’t really dead now, was she?

However, the only ones who were allowed to know that were her family and the people in charge of her surgery. Everyone else? Nope. Not a clue. Aoi couldn’t even tell Yusaku – her best friend – that she was still alive. No, she had to hear it from Yuzu herself that Yusaku had been at her ‘funeral’.

Needless to say, it took Aoi several hours to calm down as she had completely lost herself in tears, sobbing hysterically over the fact that her best friend and the love of her life thought she was dead and she would never be able to tell him the truth.

This was her life now. She just had to find a way to… deal with it. At least she would still be able to see him in school since her brother had enrolled her in the same school to continue her education. So she could still meet with Yusaku and talk to him to see how he was doing. She just… couldn’t tell him that it was her.

Great…

“I-I’m okay,” Aoi tried to reassure her sister once she was properly relaxed on the couch, her feet propped up on the other side with a blanket covering her to keep her warm. “My head is a little sore, but I’ll be fine.” Near-amber eyes let their gaze fall to the ground as Yuzu sat down on the couch adjacent to her. Since Aoi had been cooped up in the hospital, she had never had a chance to see Yusaku since her accident, but Yuzu had. So while Aoi knew she needed to rest, she had to find out what was going on with her best friend.

“H…How is Yusaku?” she asked, her voice soft and hesitant as she finally looked back up to meet her sister’s gaze. “Have you seen him since the funeral? I.. I need to know how he’s doing, Yuzu. Please…”
