“HEY GUYA THIS WEEKEND ILL BE ACCPETNG VALENTINES DAY FIC REQUESTS...”
Melonana~!
.in an au where Kaito didn’t die but the rest of gaim happened
"Give me another...” A man cried out moving his cup towards him. Frowning, Kaito begrudingly poured him a drink, hearing him whine about how it was single’s awareness day. He’d cut him off after this. Looking over at the bar, he tried to keep track of who he was going to cut off ,and who he wasn’t. How could anyone be this weak to allow themselves to get like this? He was alone and it didn’t bother him. Perhaps they were different.
And who was he to talk, being in a town so far away from Zawame. A place where no one knew his name.
The door opened, and a man dressed in a well tailored suit stepped in. Kaito’s eyes widened as he met his figure quickly, recognizing him. Kureshima Takatora. His presence drew attention quickly...people like that never showed up in this sort of town. Was he here for him? What did he want?
Takatora sat down at the bar, and looked over to roder a drink. “One-” He frowned realizing who it was and avoided eye contact for a moment. “One of what is your strongest.” He spoke evenly, and Kaito tried to figure if it was a joke or a unfortunate remark. Did this man joke ever? He didn’t seem like the type. What did he know about him besides that he was the overseer of Yggdrasil and Mitsuzane’s really hot older brother?
Pouring the older man a drink, Kaito chose not to ask about anything. Zawame was far away both in memory and in distance. Too much had happened. Too many people had....too much had happened.
“Kumon Kaito, was it?” Takatora spoke looking up at him. “This is not where I expected to find you. Not that I was looking.” Sipping at the drink, Takatora hummed, not making eye contact. “It appears I am not the only one running way from things.”
Making a Tch, Kaito squeezed the glass in his hand hard enough to almost break it. He knew his strength however from breaking far too many of these, and was able to prevent another gash in his hand. “Don’t act like you know me, Kureshima.”
“Ah.....I’d rather not...Takatora.” His words were quiet, and he refused to make eye contact. “I understand your hatred however. But understand, the man responsible for.....that is one I hate as well. I inherited the sins of my father.” Takatora mumbled, though he didn’t sound so convinced he was faultless of blame of everything that had happened. Perhaps it was that he knew that he very well was not. “Not that I was much better.” And at that, Takatora downed the entire drink. “I never wanted to...but Ryouma had....” He sighed and gestured for another drink. “If I was better, none of you would have to have experienced what you did.”
“I don’t want your pity. What happened happened. Nothing can be changed.” Kaito frowned, pouring anothe drink, wondering what the man would be like drunk.
“I’m told that a lot. However, you should know that that it means nothing. Being told that. The blood of others can never be washed off. Failure can never be forgotten. Mistakes cannot always be fixed. Instead, we must live with the sins of our parents and our own sins on top of that.” Takatora took a sip before looking up to him. “I didn’t expect you to be here.”
Kaito wasn’t sure how to respond to the situation. “I didn’t expect you here either.” He chose not to comment on the rest of what he said.
“A friend told me that you were.....very-” Takatora started. The reason he’d come in here was because a friend who lived in the area had told him about the really attractive bartender....this town was close to the business meeting he had to have with his damn father. And it was Valentines day. Another year of being all alone. So what did he have to lose going to a bar to hit on a bartender he’d been told was just his type.
If his type was Kumon Kaito, what did that say about him?
“Attractive.”
Kaito raised an eyebrow. “You came here to pick up the bartender, but now you don’t know what to do because it’s Kumon Kaito the son of the guy who’s company you destroyed and also destroyed his life as well as the welfare of the entire town for some bullshit becasue you followed some crazy mad scientist who had you wrapped around his finger so well?” Takatora winced with every word.
“......I did what I thought was needed to be done. I will just take my leave.” Takatora frowned putting money on the table.
“Wait.” Kaito rolled his eyes. “My shift ends in five. Ryouma told me you scream in bed.” It wasn’t something he wanted to hear, but Ryouma would talk to Sid and Yoko about it and well...he was around for it. “I’m curious as to how much I can make you scream, Takatora. You’re....attractive. At least for a night, we can pretend nothing happened.”
“.....No one around here is really your type are they?”
“...No one around here is on my level. You’re at least near it.”
