But Richter couldn’t deny that the man was very good to him, and he was never in pain the entire time. Which made it even worse.

The hunter’s first instinct was to jerk back, draw his weapon, and just end this creature’s unholy existence already. But Joachim is much too close for the Vampire Killer to be effective, other than perhaps burning the bastard’s skin. The silver hunting knife might do better in this case, as Richter does right ahead to reach to it’s holster.

“Don’t touch me, you disgusting creature!” Nothing could prevent his face from heating up and turning pink as he remembers... those were indeed his words. He remembers the vampire’s touch, cold at first but skilled enough to have him quickly fill out in his hands and soon after that, to have the seducer seat himself...

“I was not in my right mind then! You manipulated it, seduced me to do what you will of me!” He still doesn’t look up at Joachim, not enough for him to be able to charm him this time at least. The scar this beautiful beast’s bite left behind has long since healed, but the marks still remain. A lot of the townsfolk still believe that just being bitten by a vampire would mean one is damned, so he does well to cover it up until perhaps the scar fades more.

Richter’s fingers curl tightly around the handle of the knife and quickly pulled it up, he’ll defend himself better this time.

“You made a mistake coming back here, if you think you will have another chance! Not with me, not with anyone in this town!” The Belmont’s throat throbs, aching as though his veins are screaming to be fed from again, he bets. His quickening heartbeat is the reason for that. He supposes he should be grateful that Joachim was kind enough to be gentle and not tear into his flesh, to make the scar more horrific than it felt.

“Jealous? No. I have lived my life, and it was a good one... but what I do not comprehend is how you managed to survive after Castle Bernhard. I watched you disintegrate into nothingness. I suppose even slimy individuals like you learn how to cheat death, spitting God back in the face. As typical with your kind it seems...”

Sometime in the near future… Richter, while pressing his fingers against his new white scarf, turns away as his cheeks flush rosy. He remembers just why he’s now wearing that scarf now.

“Q-Quiet now… No one needs to know about my mistake, okay?! It’s an honest mistake, and it won’t happen again, that’s for sure.”

Of all the mistakes Walter could have done, it was to underestimate the bond that not only binds those he turns to himself, but his very being also bound to them. After all, there must be a balance in powers somewhere, one that Walter himself could have never thought would be exploited by those under his care.

So when he takes back his beloved Joachim from the depths of the castle, returning to what he thought was the life they both torn asunder... Walter finds himself in trouble, and having his heartstrings tugged at, manipulated like a puppet. He never thought his first fledgling would turn against him like this, basically becoming his beloved servant, the man who provides everything for him.

He fears that this exploit would be taught to the younger of the two as well, making his time even worse.

Malade d'amour

It’s been quite some time since Walter and Joachim managed to turn what was supposed to be a bloody fight into sudden romance and healing time. What with Walter’s feelings being just as suppressed as well, then to suddenly have them be aggressively brought out of him at Joachim’s close proximity... It was both welcoming and absolutely horrible. The red vampire had no idea how much his heart and mind could be exploited so, which he never thought could be done on purpose.

Until signs began to line up before his very eyes, staring right at him as if to mock him for being so blind. Yet, what truly could he do? His very core has been exposed and touched by the loving embrace of a lover, whose claws slowly began sinking further into his very soul. The very bond that he once sought to gain control of is now being used against him. Once he came to some kind of realization it was much too late, as he’s sunken in too deep. Joachim has him now, claws deep enough that he could feel it on his very skin. 

There is no escape, and a part of Walter just doesn’t want to, as he rest his head with tired eyes staring into nothingness. He’s with his beloved once again, so that’s all that mattered, right? They’re together and Joachim - at the moment - is safe and sound, away from danger and away from being neglected. The Sire is quite tired, yet lost all the ability to comment, complain, or even to fight against what is asked of him in any way. He makes no sound, not even to breathe - which he doesn’t actually need to be doing anyway - as he rests his head upon the younger vampire’s lap, his cheek flush against the top of his thigh. His arms are both wrapped around Joachim’s legs and the other reaching up to hold on tightly to one of his hands.

Walter would tense at every moment, every sound, as if whatever it could be would separate the two. The pupils of his golden eyes are almost nonexistent, as he rests with his darling, his beloved, his everything... as well as the current bane of his existence, the reason why he’s so on edge, so jumpy and on the verge of a breakdown, if he wasn’t broken already...
