It took everything in her to not snap. When Robin felt trapped that was how she reacted. She lashed out in the only way she could and that was usually verbally. She'd done it to Steve and even Dustin before and felt like shit after. It stemmed from never having any power - always backed into a corner and made to take whatever her father gave her. This was Nancy and she loved her in ways that went beyond what she felt for her other friends. "I..." She trembled and her voice shook. "I...told you I'm just clumsy." She stood there in front of the other girl with her arms crossed over her chest. Nancy wasn't supposed to see her like this. They'd gotten too comfortable together and the other girl who normally knocked just walked in on her while she was changing and there was no hiding the bruises that covered her body. There was also no going back. "I can't...I can't tell you." She couldn't bring the girl she loved into the mess of violence that was her life. "You should. You should leave me. You don't need to get involved in this. I can handle it." It was true that she'd been doing it for as long as she could remember but it didn't mean that she wasn't afraid. What if one day it went too far and it was all over for her?

She tapped the pencil eraser against the tip of her button nose when he sighed in response. That meant he’d had a long day and was trying to finish paperwork, so they could go home. “Turn a little to the left while you’re reading. Trying to get the nose right.” Flipping the sketchpad over, “Hangry Harvey: The Telekinetic Flying Man. Cool, right?” She asked with a nervous edge to her tone. Showing off her work wasn’t easy.
