Note, to Ford!

Ford,

You always knew I was gonna go out before you right? You knew I couldn’t keep up with you, maybe as kids but the life I ran after that was hard on me. You just seemed to get stronger, don’t really know how you managed that but you can get it right now in writing that I was jealous.

The best thing I ever did was to get you back, I hope you know that. If you didn’t come back you never would have met the twins, you never would have gotten to meet everyone I loved. Everyone I loved got to meet you, the brother that I loved more then anything. You coming back was my greatest achievement, and I’d do it all again even if there was a chance that you never would have cared about me again. I don’t understand a whole lot about the worlds you’ve encountered, but I hope that’s common around all of them.

I also hope that it’s common that we stayed together. I hope one pair of us stayed together long enough.

In case I never said it enough I love you, you’ve always been my best friend and twin brother even when it didn’t seem like I cared. I always cared even when I told you I didn’t.

I’m also sorry for leaving you so soon. After everything, after always leaving you behind I left you to whatever the hell happens when you die. Please try not to follow me to soon or I’ll kick your ass personally.

I guess first and foremost I should thank you for taking care of me for so long. I should have gotten you out of it before I wasted however many years of your life I wasted. I don’t say it that much but I appreciate it.

You remind me way to much of myself and it scares me. I don’t know as much of your past as I really should, but everything you’ve done? That’s all shit I’ve did which is why I wanted you as far away from it as you could have been.

Everything you’ve done though? I’m proud of you, of the friends you’ve made in town of everything you’ve done to help me. I wish I could have done more to help you, but you’ve done a pretty good job yourself.

Please, take the cash that’s hidden behind the false back of the kitchen cabinet. Use it to take care of yourself.

I think it’s not hard to say that you were one of my own right? You had to have known that I love you just as much as I love the twins. I’m just sorry I didn’t notice what was happening to you sooner. Maybe I could have done something sooner. I’ll kick myself even in death for that, and hopefully kick your parents ass while I’m at it.

I hope you learn from my mistakes, kid, it doesn’t pay to drink your troubles away or let the past overwhelm you when you’ve got good things in your future. I trust you though, and I know Dipper and Mabel will help you when you can’t really make it. They have a tendency to do that.

Keep Mabel grounded, but let her make you smile when she can. Also keep Gideon away from my body, I don’t care where you chuck my corpse but keep me far away from him.

Dipper,

I don’t make these with the hope you find them, but I just wanted to let you know how proud I am of you. You always reminded me a little bit of myself, but you were always better then who I could be. 

I don’t know what I would have done if you died as never came to Gravity Falls. I guess I’d still be a lonely old man with no one to look up to because kiddo you’re my inspiration. I wish I was half as good as you are and half as smart too. You definitely take to Ford with all those smarts.

I guess, if you’re reading this, then something happened to me. I’m sorry for leaving you kiddo but don’t get upset. It happens to the best of us right? Just take care of yourself and your sister. Remember what I told you and keep your chin up. I love you.

As I write this note, I am preparing to do something for which I do not expect you to ever forgive me, nor do I deserve to be forgiven.  But eventually, you will see that I am doing you a favor.  By the time you find this letter, I shall have relieved you of the burden of my presence.  In time, I am sure you will find someone worthier of your attentions; someone stronger, someone more useful.
