He’s so tired. How long has it been? His head is splitting, or at least— he thinks it is.
Groaning, he grips his head and pushes himself up to his feet. Stumbling, he catches himself on a wall, rubbing his forehead. After blinking for a few seconds, Chris focuses on his surroundings.
Is this— Ashley’s house?

Wrapping his arms around himself, like he’s hugging his chest to retain heat, Chris leans uncomfortably back against the wall.

Scowling, he does his best to meet Josh’s eye.

Chris rolls his eyes and squeezes his eyes shut, head falling into one hand.
“Ugh, Ashley,”he grumbles, and leans away from her, watching her sideways.
“That’s like, the meanest thing to wish on someone. “I barely laughed.”
He feels guilty anyway. A good way to fall out of someone’s good graces is to laugh at a stupid joke at that someone’s expense. He’d never laughed at Ashley. Which is why he feels guilty about it now.

This is getting out of hand a lot faster than he could have imagined. Granted, he hadn’t planned this argument, so who was he to say how much power he really had over it in the first place? Hissing through his teeth, he turned sharply on his heel to avoid his best friend’s eyes, fingers curling into short blond hair as he gripped at his head.
“Isn’t it?”he demands, throwing his hands down. “Then pray tell, Josh, “what the hell did you mean?”
He feels dirty, and after one bleak attempt to look over his shoulder at Josh, he shakes his head.
“Y’know,”Chris begins slowly, and takes a moment to inhale slowly. Exhale. “No, it’s. Never mind. Forget it.”
Chris is tempted to leave, but his feet aren’t listening to his brain, and his heart has traded places with his throat.

Coming in close, he closes his eyes and— bites the end of Josh’s nose before throwing himself back, hands in the air as he cackles.
“Are you in love with me yet, huh?”
