“Oh no no,” Marinette said, wagging her finger, “any time is a Santa hat season.” The patisserie was completely decorated for the holiday season and every worker was wearing some type of Santa gear whether it was a hat, a bow, or a headband. In addition to this, the bluentte had also made her own homemade Santa hats that children (or teenagers were free to take) as her way to spread holiday cheer.

“Please take one! They’re quite comfortable and they will definitely keep your head warm,” she explained with a smile. “They’re free to any student!”

Marinette raised an eyebrow and snorted. “Really, Mei?” Admittedly, she did admit that she felt some attraction towards him. But enough to call him hot. Was anyone actually considered hot?

No.

“The only thing hot about these cookies is that they’re not frozen,” she explained. She leaned closer to the male, staring up at him. “So keep reveling in your lukewarm status, Mei, and try again,” she said with a knowing smile.

Marinette couldn’t help but laugh aloud at her coworker’s comment. It was true that the man was attractive, but the bluenette wasn’t here to work with these types of relationships. She grabbed a fresh cookie from the tray and watched as the piece quickly fell apart because of its heat.

“Yeah, well. If you’re not careful then you’re going to burn yourself, hot stuff,” she said, emphasizing the nickname to create a little joke over it. She took a bite of her gooey dessert. “The cookies are definitely hotter than you are.”
